Pawson with his finger on the pulse again. Useless.

Probably so they can make their forum look more populated than it is, much like they do with the stadium attendance figures every fortnight.

9 days since the opening post says he agrees a 2-year extension and that's good news all round eh Didn't get very far into that phantom new contract did he? Brilliant.
-
They'll be scrambling to find replacement presenters and commentators if he has, the fucker gets where water wouldn't. Here's hoping, he's shite.

£40m for Clarke Aye, a lad who plays for a mid-table Championship side should definitely fetch the same fee as Cole Palmer did a year ago.

Is the only tangible update today from Baldwards?
-
Kulusevski started on the bench Monday and they've just bought Odobert as well. Would absolutely love to get him in.

Chelsea's administration team be like

I reckon we go get someone £30-£40m from Yewrup that hasn't been linked strongly at all within 48 hours.

Bit of a risk to shift your two very capable starting CBs so late in the window like. I could see them getting Guehi a 1 year extension and promising him a move next summer if the price is right tbh based on nothing at all.

Decent point on the road for Gateshead tonight.
-
This is it for me as well. Guehi/alternative or a starting RW comes in, I think most people say that's a very good window. Both and it's a brilliant one. Neither and it goes down as frustrating. We're right on the cusp, it's going to be impossible to truly evaluate it til the deadline passes.

To be clear as well, I've still got faith in the transfer dealings we've done and are doing in a big way, there's barely been a mis-step since the takeover. It may well be we were backed into a corner by PSR and had to take whatever Forest threw at us. I can swallow that so long as we go into the season with a much better no.2 goalkeeper on the bench than the one sat there on Saturday. Feel like my last post was a bit aggressive and in the style of the "OI! EDMONDS! NO" character from Harry Enfield. If we get it sorted out before the window shuts then fair enough. If we don't, my anger stands.

On this, if Vlachodimos isn't deemed as good as Dubravka by the coaching staff/Howe it's an absolute fucking travesty we've brought him in, PSR wrangling or not. There's plenty of Forest's players we could have got hold of who could have been of use to us, if this geezer is worse than that jug eared tit there's absolutely no point him being here. As it stands we're still a Pope dodgy landing from him desecrating our goalmouth again, despite it being clear since last January that he's nowhere near up to the job. (insert increasingly speculative high figure around what we supposedly paid for Vlachy, £20bn wasn't it?) Ruddy I can get over as he's basically a coach and doing the same gig as Gillespie, but if they haven't sorted this out in a positive way come the end of the window it's negligent as fuck for our season's ambitions. Way too big a gamble on Pope's fitness.

at this rate the Forest cup game will see them bring Uriah Rennie out of retirement for one night.

Feels so quiet I'm expecting the Chronicle to be readying the dreaded "It's Sho Time" or "Let's Get This Sho On The Road" back page that we were all so accustomed to many years ago.

The fuck is Faes laughing at?

Compare that Leicester first 45 to Ipswich's the other day. I know it'll likely amount to the same number of points at the end of the night but in terms of encouraging signs, there were absolutely none. Vicario is a bit of a dodgy keeper and yet could have taken a library book out for that first half.
-
Agree, Howe seems to like him though. Whenever we have kids around for a friendly he seems to be one of the first thrown on.

I'd love Targett to get fit and back to his initial loan spell form. Could solve the CB conundrum for six months if we treat Kelly as a CB and Targett and Hall fight it out for left back. Don't see it, mind you. Feel like he probably goes, potentially on loan late in the window.

Playing 10 vs 11 for over an hour is difficult even if you're a significantly better team than the opposition. The fact we're talking about one good save and one kicked off the line in about 70 mins of football shows how well we defended, even if Southampton's forwards weren't great. I do think some people's expectations of the day has skewed the viewpoints a bit. New season, last year's bad luck behind us, fresh legs back in the team, at home, newly promoted cannon fodder side visiting, we'll win 4 or 5 nowt, fancy so-and-so for a hattrick etc. We turned a potentially difficult afternoon into three points and a clean sheet to go with it. Don't see how you can be anything other than pleased about that. Also, something that disappointed me last year was the lack of streetwise shithousery, running down the clock, winning free kicks late on etc. and it looked to be back which will serve us well. The performances will evolve when we get the likes of Gordon, Bruno etc back up to full speed and introduce Willock, Tonali, Kelly and any other new additions to the side and I think we'll look back at this game in May as a very useful building block to kick our season off.
