I hate managers like Keane and Strachan who just sign players they've had at previous clubs. Absolutely no creativity at all.
Still, not as bad as Paul Sturrock just giving his son a contract every year.
I'd like to see:
Krul
Perch Coloccini Williamson Enrique
Routledge Barton Guthrie Xisco
Carroll Best
With Vuckic and Tavernier getting some minutes, hopefully.
Nolan did not have a good game. He made about three runs into the box with the ball that were snuffed out because he is so fucking sluggish, other than that he contributed fuck all. The big black lad and the guy with blonde hair absolutely bossed the centre of the park, a fact made even more shameful by the fact that our 'wide men' spent a lot of their time in there with Smith and Nolan.
How is he not at fault for the first goal? It looked like a slide tackle that he was going to make, easily, and being the last man, he had to make it. He missed the ball somehow and they scored as a result.
I'd take Wheater and Digard from their squad.
Strachan keeps persevering with that Rhys Williams lad in centre mid though, and I've yet to see him have a good game.
The freekick was unstoppable, no keeper would have saved it. I thought at first Harper might have done better for the second though. Was hard to tell really.
Made one absolutely top drawer save today - scissors kick type shot inside the area from about 10 yards, very hard, and he stuck out an arm and turned it over the bar.
R.Taylor and Guthrie today (particularly the latter) were playing pretty much as central midfielders. We looked a million percent better with Guthrie/Nolan in the centre and Xisco wide left.
