  2. Just found out today that I worked with a relative of Frank Wiafe Danquah. Not even worthy of a thought, probably.
  3. Loved it there tonight, superb atmosphere. It's great to have a fun match without fear and negativity in the air. 50k for a reserve keeper's testimonial is extraordinary Dabizas, Bowyer and Gillespie were definitely our best players, Di Canio was ok. I loved seeing Nolan in black & white again, whilst that Barton tackle on Di Canio got a massive standing ovation. Biggest roar of the night At times I swear we were playing better football than Pardew's lot, at other times we were awful! Beresford was comically bad but it's only a friendly. We did one corner that was the best one we've done since the Ba goal! The night had a few party poopers, though. Was gutted when the linesman ruled out the returning Gillespie/Tino combination and that goalie was having the match of his life! He couldn't wait to save those penalties Harper's was awful though! A lovely touch was having Speed's kids come on, not that you could tell with that embarassingly bad PA system. Such a great night though, I loved it.
  4. Can't believe I'm excited for a testimonial It could be lots of fun tonight and I think it'll probably be the best 90 minutes at SJP all season.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Feel like I would have loved this guy, based on youtube. He was fucking magic at times. He'd score from anywhere - distance was just a number to him. I wish he was at tomorrow's testimonial

Fair point this. If there's one thing we don't need it's creativity and goals from out wide. We're all sorted for set-piece delivery too. http://www.sitcom.co.uk/saxondale/images/char_alistair.jpg I have to say Ronny, I think you were being a bit sarcastic there. What gave it away?

Give him everything he wants, everything he'll ever need......throw it all at him dammit!

    George Caulkin

set your aims a little lower to start with.....simon bird? he's not offensively bad either tbh, set your aims to be better than Lee Ryder at first and work from there. Ryder wouldn't have been able to post Ketsbaia's post here.

    Sunderland

He probably would if it wasn't for the 25 man squad rule

Caulkin, man I'm about to start a Sports Journalism course, knowing I'll never be as good as him. He's class.

Fair play, they keep finding a way to outdo us.
  12. I think we'll not see a player signed on this thread. Bold statement, I know.....
  13. Probably off to Marseille next summer, then.
  14. Interested to see if this Glen Johnson injury is bad, because that should mean Andre Wisdom coming in.
  15. I guess he's either winding us up by playing at SJP and representing a team nobody ever remembers he played for, or he's helping raise money for charity by playing with some mates. We need a pantomime villain anyway.
  16. Erm....didn't Doug Ellis invent the bicycle kick?
  17. I'm doubling up on Walcott & Giroud, like. Those fixtures are mouthwatering. Thinking of a Van Perise, Giroud, Sturridge strike force but its a bit harsh on Soldado.
  18. For strikers though, Petric and Marica are genuine strikers who are above pub team level
  19. Looking over the next 6 games, Arsenal, Liverpool & Man Utd have cracking fixtures. The RvP temptation is back but its hard enough picking 3 from Giroud, Sturridge, Soldado, Benteke & Eto'o.
