Striker, centre half, centre midfield are crucial like. Really, really need all three. Lewis, Manquillo or Trippier could fill in at left back. Not a priority imo.

Shite his first season. Had we stayed up we'd have probably got rid of him. Utterly class then onwards, aside from his last perhaps. Too young to really remember Woodgate, so he's the best centre half I've seen for us. The current lot don't come close like. Think he'd be even better now.

Would love him to succeed like. What a turnaround recently. Thing is, his attitude has never been in doubt. Given that he moved here without a word of English, with half a season before COVID, with that price tag. He will have known fine well he's been absolutely terrible for the majority of his time here. Most players would have downed tools and given up like but every credit to him for keeping at it. I'm not convinced about him long term but fair play to the lad at the minute.

I'd take Alli, still relatively young. Lingard i'm more wary of. The thing is with the likes of Lingard and Trippier, approaching or at the wrong side of 30, coming from top teams. We used to have a reputation pre Ashley for signing overpaid, past it cast offs. I dont think Lingard or Trippier would fall immediately under that bracket, but you have to question how much longevity we'd get out of them - A season? Two perhaps? They'll be 30 and 32 this time next year. It wouldn't matter so much if we could spend what we want, when we want but FFP basically means we're going to have a budget and stick to it. If they were to keep us up, it'd be shrewd enough mind, but we need to have one eye on potentially moving these players on when their legs go. Everton are prime example of the situation we do not want to end up in. Buying players that would in theory have improved the team somewhat, but a few years down the line they're utterly stuck due to overspending and FFP constraints and an inability to get rid of high earners.

I put in Ramsay and Wood like. Annoying. Still got about 8 players playing this weekend so far though. Going to be irritating having to plan around potential double gameweeks. Wasn't a fan of that last season. Already used Free Hit and Wildcard as well.

It's laughable how any criticism of the board is jumped on as ridiculous. I'm hesitant to criticise at the moment. I understand that they want to do things properly and appoint the right people in the right places. Its a bit of a worry that no senior figured have been appointed though, except for a manager which was done very poorly. It's all about January for me. They knew from day one that January is the be and end all for this season. October is more than enough time to get things in order to be able to bring in significant reinforcements. As long as we're able to give ourselves a fighting chance, thats good enough for me.

At the very least he needs taken out of the firing line. Regardless of ability, he looks shot at the moment. I don't think he's ever been this bad but his confidence has gone like. Ridiculous if he keeps starting. Even if Howe rates him, he needs some time away from the first 11.

Absolutely do not want Wijnaldum back here like. He's a good player but he was utterly anonymous for most of that season when we went down. Particularly away from home. I don't think he's suited to playing in a side that forfeits control of the game. He'd played for Ajax and PSV before us, two teams that dominate possession. Depends on January. Without significant reinforcements we're 9.5 imo. Should be buy and buy well, we could get out of trouble. The manager debacle and then the lack of any sort of structural appointments so far doesn't fill me with confidence. I really hope we're not relying on Amanda Staveley and Jamie Reuben, who have 0 experience of running a football clubs, to conduct business in the most important window I can remember.

I didn't think it was that much of an error tbh. Possibly could have done better but be was stretching and it was wet. Stood up well for that one on one at the end. Norwich should have absolutely put it to bed there.
