  1. Explain some of the logic behind his decisions since he bought the club then. If he's shown one thing, it's that you cannot predict the man's motives because common sense (and logic) go out of the window where he is concerned. Bad decisions and crap businessman. He's neglected the club completely over the past 9 months.
  2. I wouldn't be so sure...
  3. I'll be there. Looking forward to it. I have a season ticket at Shamrock Rovers actually, but I'll be cheering against them on this one. Tallaght is a bit rough, though. Its okay in the daytime but in the evening I wouldn't hang around if I were you. As for the Rovers fans- Dont call Shamrock Rovers 'Shamrock'! Its quite annoying and comes across as ignorant. In Ireland everyone knows them as 'Rovers'..... But their good craic and I'd be very surprised if there was any sort of trouble, tbh. Btw- In terms of pubs; theres The Maldron which is right opposite the stadium. Home fans drink there before games and I'm sure you'd be allowed in if you have a ticket. It'll be good craic.
  4. On paper, yes, this squad can easily achieve promotion. But, as we've found out the hard way in recent years you cant win games with a team sheet. Basically all of that squad is the same gutless, greedy, cowardly and half arsed group of players that got us relegated last season. Shearer came in and tried to motivate them to beat the drop....but that wasn't enough for them. So I cant see Al or any manager being able to whip them in to shape, mentally, to push for promotion. We need to completely overhaul the squad, keeping a select few players like S.Taylor, Bassong, Guthrie, Beye and Carroll, and surround them with a mix of youth and experience blended with hunger and ability. Before the start of the season I can see us selling off: Martins, Jonas, Coloccini, Bassong, Enrique, Barton and maybe even Beye. Most of our expensive (and best) assests. Subtracting the keepers, we have a very small group of pllayers who have got a taste of 1st team experience. I have a feeling we could be worryingly thin come August 8th... Easier said than done, and, at this moment in time, I cant see anything getting done at this club.
  5. We'll put this in the 'positive' pile for now...
  6. Originally from Kent, but I now live in Dublin.
  7. If this was true.....then I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Its the best deal for him; he gets what money he wants and watches us choke. He'd love that.
  8. Leeds have somewhat stabalised, mate. I fear we're heading down the Southampton route.
  9. True, I cant imagine any player in their right mind would want to join us, but the other factor is who the heck is going to approach players to join us? I struggle to see Chris Houghton and Calderwood mustering together much of a shortlist to bring in players. I can see us starting the season with what we have now (although I cant imagine many will be here by August) and Houghton at the helm. This is just the most depressing club in the world.....
  10. That home shirt is freakin awesome!! So good, like. It has that retro look about it....actually it reminds me of their shrt when Ronaldo played for them. The away ones nice as well... Btw, I hate the Premiership ball. I'm so glad we're in the Championship....
  11. Yeah I'm sure its this door.......****! Maybe up these apples and pears...no.... Doris where's the ******* conference room!
  12. I think we can rule Shepherd out of this, imo. Ashley will not do business with the fucker and, you can sort of understand his point of view, he wont do business with Shepherd. End of. Plus, his pride would be wounded severely. I was scanning through Newcastle Utd-mad.co.uk and there's a bloke on their forum who says he knows a lad high up in the club who says that the club has been sold. He sounds pretty convincing to me. But anyway, any new owner we get atm is a gamble. Lets just hope that these Malaysians (if true) have the best inentions of NUFC at heart.
  13. I'm off to the Rovers game! Cant wait
  14. Christ sake. I feel we'll start to see major developments within the next 2 weeks. Your guess is as good as mine but I have a feeling.
  15. What an idiot. Surely most of the good teams in England & Spain would have taken him. He's the chap from Porto, isn't he? He has a wicked left peg on him...
  16. yeap i remember the game i remember the protests after, all aimed at shepherd Aye, same. The funny thing was that, at the time, he was away in the Caribbean or some exotic place like that. Says it all...
  17. I just cant believe that to save us, we need the man who ran us into the ground to come back and buy us from the man that has his axe over our necks... Only at NUFC.
  18. I remember after that game in the 06/07 season when we lost 0-1 at home to Sheff Utd. It was possibly one of the worst performances I've ever seen by an NUFC team...it was horrific. But anyway, I remember just sitting there for about an hour, gutted, thinking "this is it; we're going down. If not this season then the next. We have no future whatsoever under Freddie Shepherd". Sadly, I can see this re-entering my thoughts if Shepherd gets near us again... Obviously he would (somehow) be better than what we have, but I would take a gamble on any other investor any other day of the week of Shepherd and his crew.
  19. I love the: "Shut up NE5, do you ever shut up?!"

    A hot deal

You skived off school to read a book? You rebel. Anyway, I've read it twice.....its that good.
  22. No thanks. i like being able to wear our kits in public. Adidas is better than every other kit maker It's a long standing belief of mine that anyone who wears a football shirt outside the confines of a football ground or while not actually having a kick about should be put down. Why Football shirts were a life saver for me at university. Not once did I use an iron in my 3 year tenure thanks to the wonder of the football shirt. Bet you were still a virgin when you graduated though... Incorrect Sticking your cock in an electrical appliance doesn't count. As for why I hold those who perpetually wear football shirts in disdain. It makes you look like a f***ing scruff. I really dont see the problem with wearing a football jersey out and about. OK, if you wear on a night out or something like that then your a tool, but otherwise there's nothing wrong with wearing them.
  23. No thanks. i like being able to wear our kits in public. Adidas is better than every other kit maker
  24. Nope. All about money and different ways to regenerate kits. That's what I just wear a retro 1984 home shirt on matchdays now. I don't have much money atm so I doubt I'll bother wasting €60-70 on a shirt I don't really like. I hope we get a new home one next year...
