  1. Yakubu out for the season.... back in for Alan Smith
  2. I've just had a right old go at some Everton fan on another board going "Oh FFS, Macclesfield /o\ - we'll lose" and basically told him to f*** off, learn how to be grateful and come back when his team draw a Premierleague club away in every draw for every cup. There's a fair few mongesque Evertonians about.
  3. I assume people are p***ed off due to the fact you could've got many easier ties, as opposed to the fact you've got Hull? If it's the latter, I really do worry.
  4. It's going to be interesting how we cope without Yakubu. Many people are saying he doesn't deserve to be in the team, well, we'll see who does deserve to be in the team. Hope Saha gets back soon... Also, time to see what Cahill is made of, as he's going to be getting plenty of opportunities in the next few weeks behind the lone striker. If we have one fit.
  5. Oh come on, it's not easy but the day Newcastle fear a trip to Hull will be a very worrying one indeed.
  6. My magical predictions are: Man Utd v Swansea Liverpool v West Ham Cardiff v Arsenal Leicester v Chelsea Everton v Newcastle. Maybe?
  7. "up there" ? 4 points better off than us is hardly "up there" But in this current league it is. It's just that it's probably temporary.
  8. Trying to get at the general state of things. I think it's a given for NUFC it's a definite no... or is it that that makes people not enjoy the season generally?
  9. Hm, thread title probably doesn't set a good tone. [/topicidea]
  10. Bit of a random topic starter. Intrigued to see people's thoughts on the Premierships so far, particularly with regards to the closeness of it all. Are people enjoying the competitiveness, the fact 2 wins can still, going into December, shoot you up 8-9 places? Or do people for whatever reason find it a bit of a pain in the arse? It's certainly not a case of "anyone can beat anyone", but the sheer inconsistency of most teams is making for a gripping league so far. Case in point would be Villa - they're 4th, yet have been beaten by struggling teams such as Stoke and Newcastle, Boro (at home), yesterday for example failing to beat Fulham at home, etc. For me this competition is great to see. Even if it does have me on edge that Everton may be 14th/15th by next Sunday.
  11. For no apparent reason, I think we'll get you. Or a Premiership side. Coz obviously playing a League One side at home in the 3rd round isn't good enough for us, after Ronald McDonald or whatever the hell he was called sunk us last year.
  12. Go on, who else had an unmitigated disaster today? Wycome ffs!!!??!?
  13. Not got a lot to say that's different to most people's thoughts. Good to see some defensive stability but really, this was a big chance missed. Against a team that's hardly going to strike fear into the opposition, there just seemed to be an anxiety in the 2nd half. The 3 points were within touching distance.

  16. Tempted to put a daft one on tomorrow. Anyone got any personal tips for tomorrow's games?
  17. The good thing: He's taken Sunderland up, and survived the first season. The bad things: He's a t**t. He's arrogant. He's spent 40m on second rate players. They're struggling even with those "great investments". He shouldn't be anywhere near the Man Utd job. He needs to sort out his facial hair. Have I mentioned he's a t**t?
  18. Biggest worry is that no top players will have heard of JFK therefore we will have no chance should we come up against a villa, spurs, let alone the top 4, who will probably go for similar standard players What so top players wouldn't come to the club purely because of JFK, not because of the situation the club is in?
  19. This. Despite the media exaggerating the perception of Newcastle fans (overly optimistic), it does seem apparent that some haven't quite appreciated the mess the club's in, otherwise I would have expected a slightly more positive reaction. This was always going to happen.
  20. Gutted for Pompey, but if you're going to leave Inzaghi with a gaping hole in the centre of the penalty area, then........
  21. Greatest standalone result in their history if this stays?
  22. I think an appropriately timed "lol" is required.
  23. Agree with this 10000%. +1.
