I'll take this opportunity to take a swipe at Upson. He was narrowly defeated by Gareth Barry in the summer in my "what the fuck is he doing there?" awards. Overrated to fuck for years. Barely an improvement on Williamson.

Hitzlsperger seems a decent enough player to add to the squad, no? Would definitely go after Ba - he's on loan currently isn't he? Can imagine Hoffenheim not being fussed about him leaving permanently. Certainly a realistic target to bolster your questionable strikeforce.
