  1. Aye, let's get back on topic. I think it might be. He seems a very motivated character but he might just decide to call it a day after this (assuming he is definitely out). As I've already said, I feel very sorry for him, but England will be OK.
  2. As the evening results come in... yes, Valenciennes fucked me out of 144/1 9 fold. Grr.
  3. And regarding this award itself, it's a bit of a pisstake but not surprising at all. Well done to him all the same though.
  4. So you lot dont rate Cahill dont yous? He's been a great servant for us but I think he is overrated, yes. It just strikes me there are many parallels. He'll pop up with important goals but otherwise, he's a limited player. Drop him into 4-4-2 and he disappears.
  5. I'm fully expecting Cahill to scoop PFA Player of the Year. He pops up with important goals, don't you know?
  6. This is more of a big shame than a big miss IMO. Whilst I would have taken him in my squad, I wouldn't see him as a vital cog in the machine. I have little doubt that this passing/crossing and experience would have come in handy, but it's not like we are majorly short in midfield. I feel very sorry for him though. I think he's been a quality player and in my view, his commitment to England and to the game of football itself is excellent. The only potential blemish is his questionable (early) move to America. As has been suggested, this could even be the end of his career but I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty more of him within the game.
  7. He's played a few times here and there and whilst he hasn't looked particularly great, he's fitted into their side alright. Make of that what you will. Malbranque has impressed the past 2 games, but other than that he rarely plays that well anymore IMO.
  8. Had a 50p 9-fold that would have paid £72 today but suffice to say, Valenciennes single-handedly fucked it up.
  9. By the looks of it, he's been pretty good for you. Premiership standard?
  10. Ex-Marseille starlet Mears didn't do very well there.
  11. Not sure what to think about today's result. Disappointing to draw after being 2-0 up of course but, I dunno... somewhat apathetic about the rest of the season at the moment.
  12. Gateshead doing their best to avoid a derby with Darlo next year. I won't even say the score.
  13. Coventry 0-1 Plymouth. Right.
  14. Hope WBA do their usual thing of coming from behind.
  15. £7 on the first 4, and £2 on the 2nd list of games apart from Brentford-MK also: £3 on Napoli Lyon Lorient Sevilla AEK
  16. Marca strikes me as a football comic book.
  17. Leagues 1 and 2 have a right bunch of awful fixtures betting-wise. Will probably stick to Championship and above (inc. Euros perhaps).
  18. And Beye, Enrique, Viduka... Remember this? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7578328.stm I don't know, it just seems daft that cutting an inflated wage bill is mentioned as something Ashley has done well when plenty of the stupid money we're paying was sanctioned on his watch to start with. I think my point is, as I have said, whilst much criticism is justified, the impression emanating from the club is that he is starting to get his head screwed on.
  19. I thought he'd drastically reduced your long-term liabilities? Source? My fading memory.
  20. Fair enough - thought he had actually wiped it. Isn't their stuff about you generally being in a decent financial state for the long-term, or is that fabricated rubbish?
