I remember at the time it felt like Allardyce needed more time to get things to click. Wasn't sad to see him go as such as I wasn't happy about him signing in the first place, I remember feeling like he hadn't been given much of a chance. That said, I always favour giving managers that little bit more time. In retrospect his legacy is mediocre, at best. His record since being sacked has vindicated Ashley & co, if we're being honest.

Not sure about that, if they won a cup they'd have bragging rights for a fair few years, probably for the rest of my life actually. I'd take winning the League cup and getting relegated. Really? In my mind winning the League Cup is on par with coming top of the Championship.

I'd say the same about the Barca teams, too. I don't think anyone can argue Mourinho ever went up against Barca with a superior squad of players.

Contrast with Wenger's 1-6-2 record against Barca.
