Ched Evans jailed for 5 years after being found guilty of rape
LucaAltieri replied to ponsaelius's topic in Football
Oh a court has decided?, well that's it then lads, discussion over, close the thread Nobodys attacking her, just discussing the situation. To be fair, knowing exactly how difficult it is to even get a rape case to court, never mind get the accused convicted, there's little debate as to whether or not he's guilty. The idle "discussion" here is uninformed and ill-advised. You're not aware of the facts of the case, and even if you were I doubt you have the legal experience to make a decent contribution. The court says guilty, the fucker is almost certainly guilty. No speculation required. -

Players You Are Pleased We Didn't Sign (in Retrospect)

Jason Prior. Sick note. -
"Spending big" on Cisse was actually nothing of the sort. £10m is a lot by our standards, but by the standards of other clubs/strikers in the league and around Europe, £10m is reasonable. We're not opposed to spending x-amount on any player. We're interested in value for money. We'd probably spend £20m on a player if we felt he valued significantly more. It's all relative.

Agreed. Just a shame it can't happen at SJP. Would be nice to see Birmingham going in the other direction too.
-
But he only plays for Newcastle. He must want to go to a big club.

Will we qualify for the Champions League? Sadly not...

Shola has done it all before. Get him a few starts for the remaining games, we're guaranteed Champions League. -

Indeed if you cant beat Wigan in your run in then quite frankly you dont deserve 4th, to me the key game is still Chelsea away if we get a result there i reckon the confidence and belief will carry us through. I suppose "United" don't deserve to win the league either? Not if they'd played like that all season. -

If City are out of it by that point I can see us picking up points. -
John Barnes is possibly the worst pundit on TV.

Ian Rush, I imagine.

Exactly this. It's relevant not because we're being negative but because this is the policy now. There are very few I would sell without first having secured a replacement and I would want inflated prices but, as mentioned, at our club everyone has a price. That's before you consider want away players. It's the reality of the situation.

Utility player, can deliver the ball, has played some excellent games this season scoring from left back. English premium. He could fetch 5m.

I thought Guthrie's contract had been sorted? If not then that one might need revising down. Stand by the rest. Colo is our captain, proven quality, cost us a bomb, I wouldn't see him going for any less. Tiote is volatile and somewhat limited. Taylor is a better footballer and more versatile than Simpson.
-
Fixed. Note this is what I think they'd go for, not what I'd personally want before selling them. Our most valuable asset is easily Tim Krul closely followed by Cisse and Ben Arfa. This is all guess work, really, as a lot will also depend on whether or not the player in question wants to leave. Also depends on when the bid comes in and what cover we have.

Norwich could have had 4 or 5.
-
And there was no one else anywhere near him

Against the run of play, tbh. Still fancy Fulham getting a point if not all three. Apparently they can pull out a decent second half performance at home :'(

Is Lennon back to being match fit yet?
