  1. I don't know him personally, nor am I an expert on sport & nutrition. However, his form has tailed off since joining Liverpool. At Newcastle the team played to his strengths, there was little expectation placed on him, he was playing week-in-week-out, and the squad was full of confidence. At Liverpool none of those things were true. The question is: if he were to come back would they still be true? With our current style of play I'd say he'd slot in nicely as a target man and give us another option from set pieces. Following his performances at Liverpool I think expectations would be significantly lower, and the team does still seem to be playing with confidence. He also wouldn't be expected to be the main man (as he was first time round) when Ba is back. Also, he's a fan. He'd be playing for the shirt. He'd be worth a punt at the right price. That said, it's all moot. Confident there's nothing in it whatsoever.
  2. unlikely people will sign a player with a 'dodgy knee' prior to the ACoN imo...those pitches are a fucking disgrace to humanity, it wouldn't make sense even at a knockdown price imo I assume this isn't Ba's first ACN? Would the clubs all agree to hold fire on a bid until the ACN is over then battle for his signature? £5m for a £25m forward is a worthwhile gamble. Liverpool were willing to gamble £35m on a striker with half a seasons experience and a few injuries himself to put this into context, in fact if you looked at how many games Carroll has missed through injuries the last 2 years compared to Ba I would be surprised if Carroll's wasn't actually worse. well, in response to this and oldtype then the question outstanding is why haven't spurs or anyone else bid? it's a crazy low price, i agree, so what's stopping them? It not being true to this and oldtype (again): this makes even less sense man, unless i'm wrong these are direct quotes from redknapp, if there's no clause what's his end game? unsettle the player...doesn't matter does it we'd still not sell him cheaply so it gets him very little then again what does him going public with a clause get him anyway? he's just alerting other clubs that can pay more than spurs about his availability perhaps he's in ba's agent(s) pocket? You said it best yourself. If the clause exists, it doesn't make sense for him to be saying these things. If the clause doesn't exist, it doesn't make sense for him to be saying these things. Both possibilities are equally unlikely if you try to analyze it from Redknapp's point of view. Perhaps he's been misinformed? Perhaps it's not a straight-up minimum fee release clause? (A relegation release clause of 7m seems like it would make a lot of sense, given that the player in question has shown a preference for relegation release clauses in the past) Whether it's true or not, Spurs aren't after him. If they were they wouldn't be making such a show of it all. Harry's aim is simply to disrupt a rival, you'd have thought.
  3. In the box, in possession, he took his legs away. How could that not be a penalty?
  4. Waste of money. She's shite. Would much rather bring in someone more cultured from the continent. They'll be more technically gifted when it comes to coffee (it's how they're raised) as well as being cheaper than buying English. You always pay over the odds for English.
  5. There's a young lad at Cesena that I've been hearing good things about, Mangio Vermicelli. Just broken into the Italian youth setup but I think his parents are Chinese. Tried searching on youtube but I can't find any videos. Just the kind of player we need. Clinical.
  6. Disagree with HTT's hair splitting entirely. "Darkie" is ok, "nigger" is better than "coloured" blah blah. Nonsense. Language is not static or definite. It's not written in stone. Meaning is derived in a number of different ways including context, intonation, etc and it's all subject to change. There is no one racist word, it's all about intent. Take "coloured." For HTT that's incredibly vulgar. Yet, "people of colour" seems to be the politically correct, accepted, terminology for all non-white people. Does a change of sentence structure make that much difference? Nah.
  7. The stats say it all really. http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m298/europawpw/stats.png Incredibly frustrating game. Points dropped. Really need to get a settled back 4 again.
  8. Still confident we'll get back into this. Goal was a good one but against the run of play. Ba's 'goal' (correctly) ruled out with Best being offside. We're making all the right noises, though. We'll score.
  9. Goal crisis. Should never have sold Carroll and Nolan. Where are the goals going to come from?
  10. That Blackburn goal vs Wigan.
  11. Bollocks. Mata aside they were shite going forward. Our errors gifted them the game. Defensively they were decent. They got ahead and made sure they had plenty of men behind the ball when we were in possession. Frustratingly we didn't (couldn't) change our play to deal with that.
  12. Was I watching a different game to everyone else? Wasn't Perch "marking" Drogba on the header he scored and didn't Perch miss the challenge that let Chelsea through for the second? Worst player on the pitch. Also, Obertan has his weaknesses but for much of the game he was our only penetration going forward. He got the ball into dangerous positions a few times. Not spectacular but far from shite. Same for R.Taylor... when he stopped pushing up so high and concentrated on his defending he made some key challenges. Fucking hairy for the first 20 minutes, mind.
  13. Incredibly unlucky. Colo's injury cost us the game. Chelsea were nowt special, Mata was the only one to give us any real trouble. Sturridge started bright but did bugger all from around 20mins in until the 90th minute (when he scored against a 3-man defence). The first goal was poor marking from Perch, and the second, again, a missed Perch challenge let Chelsea through. Had Colo not taken a knock we'd have contained them quite comfortably. We had the ball cleared off the line and hit the woodwork thrice. On another day we'd have got something from that. It was a little frustrating that when we finally brought on Sammy, a player who can get in behind the defence, we still continued to lump it forward or build up slowly. We should have been releasing him quickly on the break, stretching Chelsea, and giving Ba and Ameobi space in the middle. Instead our front two were marked out of the game quite easily. What a game from Krul, mind. Oh, and obviously a straight red, etc.
  14. Haven't seen enough of MONs teams to really have much of an opinion. Since Leicester he hasn't been anything above average, has he? Decent with Celtic, decent with Villa, but neither performed above reasonable expectations. He's also a dour fuck. Not particularly bothered. We'll still batter them again in March.
  15. If we can avoid injuries and keep playing the way we have been then I wouldn't be too surprised if we managed 5-7 points from the next 4 games.
  16. Reminds me of a young Andy Cole.
