Indeed, in fact he can be a heavenly player when on form.

Relying on one of our better players to score or produce a goal then holding on for dear life is not a style of football. If that's what we have to be thankful for then you simply aren't aware of what that team is capable of. I'm not asking for or even expecting free flowing football but at an absolute minimum our aim should be to push for Europe and give the cups a good go. I expect us to be putting teams like Cardiff and West brom on the backfoot, and enforcing ourselves against them, not 'looking to contain them' as we so often hear from the coward we have in charge.

We had a lot of the ball in the first half yes, but we never looked like a threat. Seemed like he sent us out with the intention of getting a draw, which is unacceptable considering they were very much there for the taking.

Saw him today against my local team. Got hit with a few heavy tackles early on before disappearing into a shell until he was subbed in the second half. Completely anonymous. Tavernier looked decent mind, calm on the ball and quick. Even won Rotherham a penalty by getting in behind and tripped.

This, if Cabaye wasn't suspended then he'd be in for Anita and Shola for HBA. But as it is, nobody is really capable of playing the long diagonal ball to Shola, so he wouldn't be as effective.

Carroll at stoke a few years ago was a good mental, think I ended up three rows forward after that one. Got a horribly locked jaw after shola's last minute equaliser against the mackems last year.

Thought we played well first half, but really should have taken our chances when they came. Second half they woke up and took over and then Silva made all the difference in ET. Can't fault Pardew really, other than maybe he should have started Remy instead of the very wasteful Cisse.

If Pardew has any professional pride then we'd be going full strength. Does he want to be remembered as a manager who won us a trophy or the manager who presided over back to back defeats to the mackems, and our worst home defeat in over 80 years?
