Matt Ritchie (now Technical Director at Bournemouth)
Wallsendmag replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
And how many were actually decent? Dummett's crosses are better than this twats. Must be difficult when you're trying pick out Muto and Perez. They're hardly Shearer and Ferdinand. -
If people are depressed now wait and see who Ashley will line up to replace him. Steve Bruce is odds on favourite followed by a return for Sam Allardyce.

Put 13 crosses into the box yesterday. Not his fault we don't have a centre forward worthy of the name. -
I was wondering what Tommy Rock was doing these days. Cracking player!

A relegation party on the Thames? Most people will probably want to throw themselves in it by then!

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan
Wallsendmag replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
He's never selling like. He'll still value the club at £300m+ when in reality, with relegation imminent, and the huge amounts of money needed to bring the training ground and stadium up to scratch, not to mention the playing squad, it's probably only worth around a third of that to any potential buyer He's here forever. -
Aye got it earlier. Same as with any other correspondence I receive from NUFC it was deleted without opening it.

It's time fo rthe protests to be brought inside the stadium now. I know Rafa has said just to carry on supporting the team (not that that's happening anyway) but, and as much as I love the bloke, he'll ride off into the sunset come the end of the season and we'll still be lumbered with this absolutely pointless football club.and an owner bleeding it dry. For this reason I think it's now time Rafa was ignored here and people started to act for the greater good of the club rather than the manager or the players. As things stand, and with Ashley running the show does it really matter if we are in the Premier League or the Championship next season anyway?

Would love SJP to be away fans only. What?! So we'd only ever play in front of about 3,000 of our own fans? What'd be the point in that? Probably to drive Ashley out.

Wolves at home looks a prime fixture to boycott if boycotting is considered a serious option.

Let's never forget these fuckers are in the 3rd Division and play league games against the likes of Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley.

He's not even trying to hide it now. Staggering that 50k people turn up every other week and just sit there and accept that it's happening. -

 All I'm saying is that you can't automatically just say he's going to be shite when the likes of Dubravka, Lascelles, Yedlin and Fernandez cost less than him and are all good or reasonable standard PL players. Obviously you don't have the intelligence to grasp that, and that's fair enough. Enjoy your day. your point is pretty shit though, because players like dubs & lascelles are the absolute exception at this level so they're the anomaly, not atsu I've just named 4 players who cost less than him in our starting XI who can hold their own in this league. Yes the more you spend the better quality you can bring in but you can't just say, well he was always going to be hopeless because he only cost X amount. It's not that simplistic. i'm absolutely baffled at the point you're trying to make tbh signings of this value will be gambles, some will work some won't...atsu was decent in the champo and we signed him gambling he'd hold his own in the prem and he can't except in the odd flash here and there we paid champo money and got a champo player, that's the start and end of it The point is pretty straightforward. Just because you pay £6.75m for a player doesn't excuse the fact that he's totally useless, doesn't seem to apply himself in games, runs down blind alleys and just passes the ball anywhere, whether there's a team mate in the general direction or not. Saying well what did you expect for what we paid for him doesn't really wash when over half our side (who put in a very decent performance for an hour yesterday) cost less than him.

Manchester United 3 - 2 Newcastle United - 06/10/18

Football isn't a complicated game and losing 3 goals in 20 minutes is poor at any level of the sport. Cheers for reinforcing my point. As the legendary Bill Shankley once said; Football is a simple game complicated by idiots. -

He cost £5M, is anybody really surprised he can't cut it at this level? He cost £6.75m which makes him more expensive than the likes of Dubravka and Lascelles for example. Fair point, but given what players go for nowadays, you're doing very well to get a PL standard player for that sort of outlay. It's Championship money. Agree and if you're shopping at that end of the market more often than not they won't be good enough for this level but I think it's giving the player a get out clause for being hopeless, not to mention his lack of any sort of application when he plays, when some of his team mates cost less than him and are doing reasonably well.

As good as the 1st half was, conceding 3 goals in the final 20 minutes to a team totally out of form and lacking in confidence is very poor. Clearly we didn't have the quality to call on off the bench to see the game out but even so that's a massive kick in the teeth. If anything I hope it's persuaded Rafa to start to play a bit more offensively though because we are definitely more effective playing that way. -

Just because we got a good deal with 1/2 players doesn't excuse the rest fact that 6.75m buys you fuck all. Don't be such a wanker eh? I've said all along he's no good but you can't just say he's no good because he only cost x amount when we have some very good players that cost less than him. If you can't understand that you're thicker than I first gave you credit for.
