Poyet seems to be articulate, have a modicum of intelligence and seems hungry to play positive football at as a high a level as he can achieve. Pardew has displayed little if none of that. Not the choice I would have thought of but if true I feel he would be a positive change. It would certainly help to dispel this anti-foreign rhetoric that Pardew has used to scapegoat his failings. If there was a complete boycott of St James Park, literally an empty stadium, he'd have to go to be quite honest. Probably aye. How likely is that do you think? Not very likely at all, but it's a point none-the-less. Even if the attendance figures dropped significantly like 20-30k less he'd probably seriously rethink his position. I just hate this 'it's not going to work so I'm not even going to try' attitude. A visible protest by the fans is the only thing that can make a difference other than the whim of Ashley right now and a half empty St James Park on a saturday would make a huge statement. Yup. I don't like the idea that any form of organised protest including abstinence is deemed futile and not worth the hassle.

Gouffran is underrated imo and you can definitely debate the positive case for lots of the others too.

But the club IS Ashley. That's the whole problem. It's his own personal toy essentially and he can do whatever he so pleases with it. It isn't 'ours' at all. Bollocks. He might own the buildings, the player registrations, the pie stands and the borehole but the club is ours. The only real thing we could do that would have an impact is to do things that will fly in the face of his beloved cash flow.

How's it a bit much? All this shite about cockneys sounds cringey like...just exacerbates that divide rather than help people from all over hear what we say. And at the same time it's true. I'm a Geordie working in London and have no problem with anyone from any part of the world but that farfetched everyday scenario works. Applying it to this situation is more difficult but it does increasingly look like the "It'll always be St James Park to me, particularly if results are OK" lark has given this prick too much time and too much licence to take the piss. And I include myself in that too, I still go to games - mainly aways but a few homes too - because I feel the need. The anecdote works; you just don't need to reference the fact that we're geordies or they're not at all; just call them for what all people should view them as, Twats.
