He's a self-replicating bucket of lie-spilling shit. It's just soundbites and bollocks smoke and mirrors. He's a complete hack and somehow the mugs in the media and up top are in his corner.

Yeah. Provided he stays; it says everything about their intent and ambition.

He's really staying isn't he? Adkins (Bizzaro Pardew) chance came and went; we won't even entertain the idea of Rafa and a selection of hungry foreign managers have made their presence felt and we're sticking with bellend because of the dopes in charge. I every faith next season has every chance of being as disasterous as this one. The dross around us will attempt to improve at least.

If he wasn't thick as a bulls dick then he may deal with the press questions better than he has done in the past. Never got the 'PR guru' angle to be honest; just seemed cliched and dopey to me.

what defines along ball; a ball in the air? how high? from the keeper? it's going to differ from statistician to statistician. You can only go on whole game summaries to get an idea of real cohesion. Confidence, flair, creativity, tenacity, understanding; all things that can't be measured by stats. I can remember very few occasions where those qualitative terms apply. They are just as relevant as any quantitative information and imo more indicative of how good we are as a side.

Well I thought this thread couldn't get more depressing and then a wild facetious statto appears!

Just seen the 'I don't care what anyone says' achievement quotes. Just shut up you fucking bamp; if you have stay at least learn some humility after a season of complete and utter disaster.

My biggest worry about him starting next season is not that he won't get sacked. It will be that there won't be any decent options to replace him mid-season and we'll be throwing away another season which will have a knock on effect regarding player departures. Football is more dog-eat-dog than ever before and if you stand still or go backwards you're rife to being cherry picked by the bigger clubs. This will happen if he stays. I've no doubt about it. He needed help from the owners last summer, yes, but he is a phenomenally poor manager.

All the talk about expectations and success. I just want to have a club that is run properly at all levels. Professionalism and competence is pretty minimal as a request.

Yep. It's as if his Sports Direct philosophy of buy cheap and get huge revenues is going to wash the same way in football. It could be argued it has to an extent with the quality of scouting. Is it sustainable? Nah.

Sadly if you look at Ashley's other appointments that's where we are as fans & the true colours of this regime is they don't want to sack their drinking buddy. Should he go then; in a footballing sense? If so does that make us unreasonable in our expectations? If the expectations we're matched by the clubs ambition/investment they wouldn't be unreasonable. A tiny squad lacking quality/depth finishing 7th whilst playing 50 + games? Nah. All debatable and debatable whether everyone expects that. Not when we have to rely on a beyond nervy win at the worst team in the league to scrape survival. We've had sufficient investment to deal with that. Again it comes back to whether he is fit for the job. He'll be sacked when we're in the same situation at xmas. You have a tone of acceptance which I envy to some degree but none of it means that this man should still be in charge of this team.

If the only remotely tangible argument is that 'there may be someone worse come in' and that the clubs aspirations correlate then we are fucked as fans. It's not beyond the realms of possibility but the more thread relevant issue remains that this man is hugely culpable, the easiest to replace and, whether he will or not, SHOULD cease to be the manager of this club. This is the time where we'll see the truest colours of this regime.

I have enough faith in humanity to beleive there can't be many WUM's out there bar the ones who get paid like Adrian Durham. Otherwise they are sad individuals who need more fulfillment in their lives. Not pointing fingers btw just don't understand the mentality. I believe there are some who genuinely content to stick with him; which I equally don't fathom.

We know Ashley's previous too. Amazed people forget so easily. Yeah ok. Silly forgetful old me for not putting up and shutting up. Jesus wept. Stagnation for the win.

Hysterical fannies spoilt rotten off 5th? We have survived by the skin of the skin of our teeth man with one worst goals conceded stats in the league and a manager that is thankful we aren't in European competitions. Great Expectations indeed.

The fear of a poorer replacement argument is mental. That will only ever be evident in hindsight whereas with Pardew we know his previous. Better the devil you know it ain't.

No reason to sell particularly many, but aye, buy players for the first team (striker and CB mainly), January window was good. Just need them players to settle, our internationals to get a summer off after 2 years without a break which has strained them. Eh, you said before they're mainly relegation fodder. So sign a striker and a CB, and where do you think Pardew will have them finish? And presumably the football will be positive and attacking? Mid -table at best. We're a poorly run club from the top. Ashley has a yes man in charge of team affairs. Someone who won't be critical of him. Who will take the players he's given and never question it. It's that sort of thing that players lament once they see how it goes. Players bust a gut to finish in the top 5. They secure a massive tv cash windfall......and then they see a summer investment of £2m. that's more disheartening than anything Pardew can do. I don't think the players in 2009 or 2013 are relegation fodder, but both of them have seen players tire of the lack of ambition at the top and look less and less interested on playing for the club...or the manager, no matter who he may be. Agree wholeheartedly for the first part; the second bit with regardless of manager I don't. A more positive motivator would get far more out of these players.

Not to mention some inhibited and disenfranchised players too...the worrying thing is that he wont change tack at all, it's not about whether he'll be brilliant or ok as he is incapable of it and we're in for a similar ride. He's not cut out for football management at all imo. Fold like origami under pressure/archaic anti-tactics and worst of all a complete sense of self-importance manifesting itself in pig-headed stubborness, bullshit politics and plain idiocy (in light of recent comments). He is the wrong man and the consensus and results suggest the same. Why the hell should we be happy to persist? I honestly don't see why another season wouldn't be 'anywhere near as bad'. In fact I will go on record to say that I will be looking back in hindsight at a similar run in the run up to xmas as we have had last year and yet another, lon-overdue sacking. I'm all for stability. I question Pardew's massively however.
