Also there is no such thing as a free transfer. Signing on fee will be massive also.

Thought the Brighton result and performance would’ve been the Leicester one and vice versa but aside from that the remaining games played out exactly as I thought. Just pleased Villa held on against Liverpool and we only needed a point from last two games as the nerves were definitely setting in against Leicester when they brought their subs on.

No ?

Anything from those in Spain that broke the Isak signing?
-
As much as I hate is on pitch behaviour and histrionics ability alone I think he’d be brilliant for Newcastle United. He’s very good. Hoping this Hungarian is a low maintenance version of him (?).
-
No I think you are right ?? Just surprised! ? He’s a bit of a “super” agent. God I hate that term ??♂️

There’s one or two in Gateshead but agree the more the merrier.

Strips going on sale in a couple of weeks so you’d think they are being manufactured now therefore an announcement should be well before July. Have a feeling the ground name might get announced in mid June also.

Been a really interesting thread. Glad we made it over the line. We were running on empty. Always interesting predicting results on stats/form Vs time of season/historical traits/management changes. Wasn’t far off predicting 6 points from last 5 games @Optimistic Nut ? but hats off to you as you and @The College Dropoutas both said not to worry ?? On 01/05/2023 at 19:56, Optimistic Nut said: Do you not reckon we'd get 7 points out of Leeds, Brighton, Leicester and Chelsea? Arsenal- (0P) “If football has taught me anything over the years is the month of May there is always very strange results providing many twists and turns. With some teams going on very unexpected runs late on. Leeds held their own up here and it will be a do or die game for them. Hopefully plays out like Everton away but we struggle up against smaller mobile forwards. Bamford not so much. (1P) Brighton seem like a team that are comfortable playing home and away and are in great form. (3P) Leicester seem to have a team full of players everyone on here says we should be buying but Vardy aside probably the team I’m most confident against as a bit nice in their style. (1P) I don’t and never expect anything from Stamford Bridge regardless what form we are in or themselves. They might have Poch in place by then and receive a new manager bounce also.” (1P) Total 6 Points

Tomorrow I guess. June 1st.

Along with these 4 I can’t see that many leaving. Maybe Manquillo now that Kraft is practically fit and we signed Ashby. If we get a first team LB then possibly a loan for Lewis. The GK positions depend on Dubravka. If he gives the nod he’ll stay for the season then it’s just a case of releasing Karius and letting Darlow join Hull. Gillespie will happily sit as 3rd choice. However if Dubravka wants out I wouldn’t rule out a move for Forster for a year. As for first team additions I think we will get two in £40-65m bracket. Don’t think there will be a 3rd unless it’s around £20-30m at a push. Have a funny feeling they’ll keep some of the budget for January.

Just about enjoyed the apple reference ? ?

Anyone think Sulemana at Southampton would be a sensible squad addition if price was right?
-
It’s the release clause so unfortunately you’d imagine clubs offer to pay it and it’s down to the offer of the player. Chelsea seem to be in for him now.

Player of the Season: Bruno as results without him dip significantly. Most Improved Player of the Season: Murphy as predicted to many ? Most Disappointing Player: Fraser as could’ve played a part this season and engineered an unnecessary situation and went against everyone else in the squad not playing regularly pulling in the right direction.. Signing of the Season: Isak as when finally fully fit stepped up to the plate aiding in some great winning runs. Goal of the Season: Definitely celebrated in the ground Trippier’s against Man City the most. I celebrated Miggy’s at Fulham more in stunned disbelief when down there. Will sit on fence as so many and go for Isak’s 2nd against Liverpool that should’ve been. Assist of the season: Willock against Spurs. The type of pass/vision I love to see as much as the goal itself. Game of the Season: Spurs at home in one sense but in the bigger picture Man City and Man Utd home games are hard to divide. Moment of the Season: Burn's goal against Leicester followed by Longstaff’s double against Southampton. Local lads coming good on the big occasions always nice to see. Manager rating out of 10: 9 - Being extremely harsh but would’ve got a 10 if we’d won the final but half justifying it as thought he made too many changes against Sheffield Wed even if I understand ultimately why he did. Season rating out of 10: 9. Again probably extremely harsh but if we’d won the final then you get the full score. Regardless absolutely loved it.

It’s already been dumbed down for the masses. There’s only about two lines to it now ?
-
We can compete as a team with them but not for similar signings. They might walk into them now but there was doubt and hesitation from others allowing us to move in. We’ll have to be smart in the market and hopefully get a few players not on everybody’s radar or at least are in two minds on. Going to be harder the higher up the talent scale you aim for.
-
We are miles off. Our top earners are £110-125kpw. The others squad players are on more than that ?

Couldn’t of put it more succinctly myself.
