I'm not denying any of your points apart from disputing the contact was enough that he couldn't stay on his feet as it's how the modern pundit and fan think. My point is 20 yrs ago there would be a massive debate. It's the transition from one era of refereeing to the modern that I really struggle with with the biggest modern culprit being their game management. Out of interest what did you think of Clattenburg in the Chelsea v Spurs game end of last season? I can barely remember that game, I think he missed the Dembele eye poke which was pretty bad and Spurs lost their discipline massively by getting loads of bookings but I can't really remember many specific incidents I'm afraid No problem. Not trying to catch you out or discuss individual incidents It just reminded me of a more old school approach which was quite refreshing as an older fan and lead to a great battle and everything you'd want in a football match however the modern day pundits and fans complained about his leniency. I just think refs generally are taught to keep a lid on the game which leads them to make more decisions than they need to. Personally nothing helps a game more than just letting play go on when you see a decision that could've went either way etc but instead they decide to make a decision to calm/stop the flow of the game. It's no wonder there has become less and less memorable games per season in the top flight.

It's a clear penalty, even the Spurs players weren't disputing it. He takes a massive swipe at the ball and misses it but catches the player I knew you'd reply. What kept you? He takes the swipe then stops. The lad feels it and tumbles. It was careless from Dier but ultimately not a foul ie he could've carried on. Just a modern day professional one. If someone took that tumble like that playing with your mates it would be laughed at and play would continue. What I want to make clear when I call these incidents I'm not denying contact. Just the contact is not enough to send you flying. In the 80/90's the player would've just bulldozed his way through such a weak challenge and went for goal. You are right there was little appeal but I think that's more acceptance how the games are being refereed these days. I dare say I have to also but diving and exaggeration is only taking the game one way. Non-contact.

Just seen the penalty Monaco were given. How can't the two officials deduce that's a massive dive.

What does Jesse Lingard offer as a footballer?

No Popies in fear of financial or point loss from FIFA.

You against the move? Aye. Clubs should be doing more to preserve their own atmospheres and fans and not relying on a hard core contingency of away fans to create something to shout down. Introduce safe standing and singing sections where like minded fans can create an atmosphere. That will come with time I suspect now that Hillsborough is being put to bed somewhat. As will reduced ticket prices because actually televised games are killing live football in this country at present. Why spend £30 to sit in a library with a (possibly) s*** view? When you can watch it at home or in the pub for nowt. Eventually people will begin to turn away from the club's they so dearly love unless the FA cap ticket pricing. Even then some will still walk away. It will improve atmospheres for the short term but it will lead to increased crowd trouble, stewarding and policing. I'm gonna stick my neck out and say I suspect that this has more to do with preserving the entertainment factor for Sky than it does owt else. The game in this country will implode eventually if they're not careful. I just think it's a good start/better than nothing. Your others points are all valid just don't see how this can't sit alongside them.

It has got Forest away feel about it from last time we were in the Championship. Let's hope the outcome is better

So who's the father then?

Not the worst of shouts actually... This is NUFC after all

Hardly howlers. Heard he's making a good impression also. Good luck to him as always seems to come across very straight.

Once you worked up the courage to come in. Was the coldest pub I've ever been in. Was thinking that when I saw a picture of Jill M4 and myself still with our hats and coats on!

Wasn't long enough.

Was quite impressed with South Shields. For 84mins it looked like there was only going to be one winner. HT entertainment canny also Scotia pre curry was interesting

As my dad always tells me 2-0 at HT is the most dangerous score line in football.

Have you volunteered to help? I know they are looking for help. No I haven't why?? Because it would help with them being displayed for earlier/longer so there's not a rush to for them to be disposed so quickly. -

A friend bumped into him shopping this week and got a photo together and Gazza did look surprisingly well.

He (Icardi) also partially to blame for some of the mess also. ? Insulted their ultras and a lot of their fans now hate him. Cheered him missing a penalty, I believe. I guess a load of them think he is a bit of a scumbag the way he went on with Maxi Lopez' wife, as well. Different teams and a while ago. But the whole story makes for uncomfortable reading IMO. From what I read, if it gets much worse Icardi will need 24/7 bodyguards. Didn't they threaten to burn his house down or something? It all stems from an incident involving him chucking his shirt at a kid/Inter fan at the end of a game/defeat and the Ultras took it off the kid and threw it back at him. He wrote his version about it in his autobiography (I think) so when the Ultras found out they unveiled a giant banner the other week insulting him and telling him how they saw the incident in no uncertain terms http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37672984

Can only see us bringing in Judge for more creativity if he's proved his fitness as I think the No.10 spot is possibly where he's least happy. All being well he'll he'll make bigger moves in the summer as and where he can find better players willing to join us.
