  1. Contained them great and created the better chances. If the plan is about keeping it level till the last 30mins like at ManU, it's working so far. Its looking well poised for HBA to come on. They look wobbly when we attack them though, so maybe a bit more positivity wouldn't have gone amiss. We haven't looked that stretched at the back, maybe partly due to their absentees.
  2. The onus must be on Cabaye to get forward. Remy will be isolated otherwise.
  3. This is even better than Ba getting a hat-trick at their place!!
  4. Ferk me, pantomime time. Behind you!
  5. Considering how happy some of the gloryhunter fans at least would be to see the back of him, it's funny how dependent they are on Rooney.
  6. It's more Suarez than Rogers for sure. Signings like Allen and Boroni haven't put them on top. As George says Liverpool have pretty much the top half at home from now on, so I reckon they have a really strong shout. Citeh meanwhile have the top half away, and we've all seen their away form so far.
  7. We're still winning games during a barren spell for Remy, which bodes well for the games ahead.

Before my time, but that's the barge that ended up in the "Big Match" video compilation from the 1970s, isn't it? That whole video is hilarious.
  9. Probably a Giggs but there's some very complimentary tactical analysis of the match on Zonal Marking. It should provide some relief for anyone wound up by the MOTD highlights.
  10. With Carrick and Rooney out and RVP clearly unfit, I reckon you have to go Felliani battering ram at No. 10 with Hernandez off it. It's ugly, but it's simple for the players, is something Moyes knows, and can be pretty effective. If he won't play Felliani as a battering ram or as a DM, it was pointless buying him. It's the only two things he can do.
  11. They hit the woodwork twice and had one roll between Rooney's legs when he was two yards out against Everton, but they created sweet FA today. We defended well, but that was really bad. They've got serious problems.
  12. It looked like HBA was doing basketball defence on Moyes.
  13. It's our best chance to get a good result here in a long time. I won't suggest any reasons why so as to not jinx it. Howay the lads!
  14. I reckon that Joe Allen miss against Everton may be a turning point for them. With him and Boroni being Brenda's first big signings, there is something apt about it as well. Had the chance fallen to the bandy-legged Mackem, I think he would have scored.
  15. We might have dressed like Brazil, but they've never had a keeper that good. Fantastic result lads. I never know what to expect, but when its good its ferking great!
  16. If this has to go through Kinnear then we can't be hopeful. I think he'd do a good job though, and lets face it, Lukaku and Victor Moses went to clubs that will finish above us. Someone else's reserves is part of the new reality.
  17. He's always looking to pass it forwards. I'd play him every week.
  18. With the way Sissoko is playing, he could even be back in contention! Aside from Krul, the player who has appeared in most games in which Marveaux featured was Jonas. Not exactly a target for the finely threaded throughballs which are the main reason for playing Marveaux. Maybe its too hopeful but Remy one side, HBA the other and someone to play them in might actually be worth a try. Well it would be if we had a functioning center forward. We always seem to be at least one piece short.

    Alan Pardew

The league is full of managers having to operate under cost constraints and ply excuses and change the subject in interviews. To go with that PR ability, a lot of such managers also bring a better grasp of setting up a football team than Pardew. When you watch their sides play, you see passing and movement. Players helping each other. Set pieces that work. None of those will cost Mike Ashley any money. We're clearly going nowhere with Pardew. Nearly relegating the eighth most expensive team in the league should have been enough.
