  1. If Wigan win tonight and the players look at the table, maybe then some of them will finally wake up ffs
  2. Our play is just too cagey and cautious to be optimistic about winning. If we do win it'll be down to a moment of magic from someone as I just can't see us creating good, standard chances.
  3. Really thought the Mackems would edge it last night. They're taking a leaf out of our book in terms of making life difficult for themselves, the only difference is they showed some real heart second half to get back into it. How shit are Stoke though, Christ
  4. Dread to think of the situation if we were to go 1-0 up.......................and then see Pardew calling the players to retreat to defend that lead for the rest of the matc
  5. Unlikely i know but it would be ironic if Wigan failed to win on Tuesday having put West Brom away yesterday.
  6. Great players (people are rating him at 20m plus) pull performances out of the bag in sticky situations. I don't see those types of performances from him at the moment, he's gone missing too often.
  7. I had a £10 bet with my mate last night that "if" Pardew is still there next season and we're in the championship the attendance won't be over 40,000 in the season opener
  8. As much as the Villa fans taunting of us when we went down still grates me I have huge respect for what Lambert has managed to do under pressure recently. And as much as I can't stand McManacunt, Martinez and that old twatt of a chairman you have to hand it to them the way they keep going. Both those sides play decent football and keep going trying to win matches which is about as far away from us as you'll see. Norwich looked awful yesterday from the highlights I've just watched. Seems like we have to better their results to stay up barring some results we wouldn't expect like Swansea getting something at Wigan and Sunderland not getting anything v Stoke.
  9. I can't comment as I didn't watch the game for once. Couldn't be arsed and have laods of study to do. But just spoke to my West Ham mate who said it was a shit match but couldn't believe the lack of urgency we showed. Said he thought we looked like a side going down.
  10. It'll be monumentally shit if we go down but after watching the Liverpool match, half of me pretty much gave up hope of staying up so I feel like I've been readying myself for the worst. Still holding out for a result at QPR but it all feels like it's still slipping away from us being realistic.
  11. 8-9 for me. Wigan have ALL the momentum. Monday and tuesdays games featuring the Mackems and Wigan are huge. Norwich look absolutely clueless like us at the moment thankfully - they must get something v West Brom at home as they have City away last game.
  12. Longing for the day when this clown leaves. That might be the "only" bit of good news if we get relegated.
  13. Decent side, Jonas is alright in midfield to be fair (if he's going to play him)
  14. My Swans mate reckons they might be up for the match against Martinez. I still think Wigan will win that one though.
  15. I hope Pardew releases him to try and get us a result tomorrow ffs
  16. If only Tiote could play like he did at Arsenal when we won there under Hughton
  17. This is a one of those a friend of a friend type stories ... But the part about players believing one player in particular has let his fitness levels drop stands out to me. I was chatting to a lad after the Liverpool loss who is friends with a French lad who knocks about with some of the French contingent. Apparently Sissoko has really let himself go since he arrived, diet wise, the lot. That kind of tallies with his performances.
  18. This is it, I've heard so much talking and quotes. We need action or we're down.
  19. Agree with all of that Word You can't argue with any of that but do people really think he's going to make those kind of decisions? He's almost backed himself into a corner but refuses to recognise any of those things and just carries on blindly making the same mistakes.
  20. I hope they come out fighting on saturday but I just don't see it in this side at the moment. Too many of the players look abject and the manager looks like he's staring cluelessly down the barrel of a gun. I hope to god I'm proved wrong (obviously).
  21. I would be interested to hear some justification from the 'No-ers'. I've suggested we persist with him for longer than most, but I'm past defending him now. I can only assume it's as Shearer put it in The Sun the other day - he's still got enough credit in the bank from last season. Which was kinda my viewpoint till after the Mackems/Liverpool fiasco. That's how I was, very similar to yourself. The derby debacle and then the capitulation against Liverpool which topped the derby result was the final big one for me. There's something chronically wrong going on.
  22. If we go down which we might well do then most of them (talented players) will be gone. It's not like we're sitting comfortably in mid table.
  23. I could see Man U going in for Bale, Fergie's one last hoorah
  24. Lets worry about staying in the premiership first before any of this nonsense.
