If we can’t get a top target to replace him he isn’t going anywhere imo. We’ll try and bed him back into the squad, smooth things over as much as we can, maybe give him a contract sweetener of sorts for the season and he’ll go next summer. I still think we’ll sign Wissa though. It’s still a dodgy situation if mentally he’s downed tools though, Howe will be critical here.

I’ve not heard anything but when a player refuses to go on pre-season tour and various journalists report he’s effectively agreed a 5 year deal on 300k per week, it’s looked done and dusted to me. The replacements and final price will be what’s going on behind the scenes now.

I agree with the sentiment and completely disagree with Isak’s behaviour in this saga but he’s 26 this year, realistically we’re not going to be winning the title anytime soon in large parts due to PSR. Footballers have short careers, they aren’t looking at what might happen in 3-4 yrs.

I don’t really have an issue with this signing. He did well at Arsenal and I think Eddie can improve his levels. We need someone to push Pope and he’s definitely better with his feet than Pope and can be an excellent shot stopper. My only concern is commanding the box and occasional mistakes. As a short/medium term signing I’m happy with it as Dubs will almost certainly be off and that Vlach character will also certainly go out on loan.

I think you’ve raised a good point. The scousers I know from Liverpool are really sound, proper football fans, were straight to text congratulating on the win. The wider fan base from London etc is horrific thesedays, and the social media lot, dear oh dear. I actually don’t mind Liverpool too much because of the sound lads I know.
