I love his direct style, his pace and I can definitely see him troubling Arsenal. He still needs to work on his finishing though and I’m not convinced he’ll ever be a top notch finisher.

Id agree, we look pretty solid defensively and Pope looks sound too. The final 3rd is going to take some tweaking though playing with a different striker and we are definitely missing Wissa.

Always take a point away but our final 3rd is a concern.

We got dominated in midfield I feel but we also still don’t stick chances away when we have them and that will continue to hurt us until we do. Gordon, Elanga and Barnes isn’t a top tier front 3. We miss Wissa for sure, should Woltemade have started, yes maybe? I thought second half particularly we were awful, terrible with the ball and our passing. Willock 😂😂 Feel like Hall, Thiaw, Woltemade technically have the skills for CL.

I’d like to think we might pick someone up in Jan, maybe loan or obligation to buy or straight out purchase - attacking midfielder maybe. Thinking ahead to next summer you’d imagine they’ll look at a new keeper for the first 11, could also see a new winger coming in maybe. My only worry next summer would be the likes of Tino and Tonali being the targets of clubs able to pay bigger wages/potentially greater trophy potential, City etc. That being said the next two windows if they go well could push us even further towards a genuine top 4 side off the foundation we have now.

He could be awesome but there’s definitely a risk going he hasn’t scored loads of goals consistently. Theres always a risk though and we’ve done pretty well in identifying potential talents and bringing them in and improving them. He just looks like a unique player in terms of his height, dribbling & technical ability. Could cause defences all sorts of issues.

I’m not entirely convinced at that statement 😂 Mind in saying that there is pressure on him to succeed after that spend. They were pretty drab but functional last season and he’s definitely opted for the less frenetic Klop approach and more pragmatic approach. I can’t see how with Isak, Elitike and Salah they can’t rip teams up but you never know how things are going to turn out. Nobody really came close to challenging them last season and they are weak at centre half if they lose a key player for a while.

Merson drops the classic little England line “does anybody know anything about Woltemade, I’ve not heard anything” Ofcourse nobody knows how he’s going to do but maybe just maybe Howe and the scouts have seen something they like skill wise and maybe he isn’t a dickhead who’s going to get sent off all the time.
