I just can’t see a situation where we sell him this summer going into the CL and I’m guessing Howe and PIF are adamant he goes nowhere for now. It’s far more likely we sell him next summer to a club on the continent with two years left on his contract. I actually expect him to go next summer to be fair.

Can they afford him after there outlay so far including massive new contracts for Virgil and Salah?

I think he’s gone next summer mate, maybe sign a new contract but that’ll be a release clause.

I don’t think we’ll sell to Liverpool or another premier league club, he’ll go abroad and probably next summer.

I don’t want him to go but it has a certain element of inevitability about it if he is keen and some like Diaz is moved on. It’s a sensible transfer for Liverpool to make. I do think we could re-invest the money pretty well however.

Yes I think the ability to have different looks formation and tactics wise as well as rotating with Isak would be excellent. We still need to improve RW though and say we did sign JP it would still be good to bring in a RW of some description even if it’s from the continent and someone of unknown potential.

Fast, strong, can play as a winger, excellent target man (Christ I remember the goal he scored at St James for Watford). He’d certainly gives us a different option and a bonafide back up to Isak.

I think they said on pod on the Tyne that while the anxiety of lack of transfers was understandable looking back at previous transfers they’ve usually been in the last week of June or first week of July. Agree with previous comments that there’ll probably be a lot of movement towards end of June with the accounts/PSR thing or whatever it is.

Guehi and Trafford would really upgrade the back line in terms of pace and ability to control the ball. I guess I’m still not fully sold on the RW options as I was hoping for a game changer type player who could win games. Elanga or Semenyo would certainly give us another edge on the RW. Elanga is deadly on the break, Semenyo looks like he can do more damage from the edge of the box taking defenders on.
