So sounds like in the summer - new gk, new R CB, new RB as back up and potentially a new striker. You’d imagine an attacking midfielder too and all this before any departures (? Tino, Tinali, Schar, Trippier, Willock)

I think there’s a sizeable chance that Tonali and Tino go and I wouldn’t be that surprised if Gordon went too maybe back to Liverpool. Whatever happens I do think there’ll be some major squad adjustments. The defence other than possibly Tino is pretty settled but we’ll need a new right CB and probably replacing Tino. We’ll need a new starting goalkeeper, possibly replacing Tonali and probably upgrading/freshening up the wing and striking positions.

Agreed. I didn’t mean we should’ve gone for either as yes it’s become apparent that we can’t match the likes of Man U for wages. I was more making the point that we lack match winners in our squad who can turn games and do something different. I guess in fairness Barnes is a finisher who can turn some games like that West Ham match.

Loads of athletes are plant based thesedays, maybe more so towards endurance sports but loads have gone plant based. I’ll always fancy a proper burger or fry up though 😂

My disappointment is that having spent 40m on the player, someone they clearly wanted Howe now doesn’t really seem keen to play him because he’s either not living up to expectations, not doing it in training etc. But thats also on Howe to make it work. Theyre spending top money on supposed premier league ready players who then aren’t deemed good enough to start and haven’t shown much when they play. Same with Elanga really.

The Cunha goal the other night against Arsenal showed the type of player we could do with, someone that can pull something out of their arse, take a chance and win a match. Other than Bruno we just don’t have anyone who can do that.

I have my doubts over Wissa and Woltemade if I’m honest. Wissa because I’m not convinced he’ll score enough goals and carry us and Woltemade because I’m not convinced we’ll play a formation which properly suits him though he think he will continue to improve. I actually think the club need to sign another striker in summer.
