  1. Clearly true in this case between the suitors Man U and Newcastle but it’s the way that they use it to suggest that was the only club they’d have gone to. It’s fucking propaganda and clear that they’ve started including it as a backhander. Whole thing is grotesque

Doubtful no? He’s going to see out his contract and then choose his next destination. Chelsea have a buy-back but the player still needs to agree to it, no? Can’t see him going there when he can go to Liverpool next year

Disaster of an injury, always awful for a player and I sympathise with him personally. Good thing chelsea have forty other players to choose from there
  4. Things need to borne in mind within context. The Ashley years were horrific for the club, unimaginably worse than where we are now. We are in such a better position and with that comes the context and expectation to keep levelling up as a club, especially as we are about to begin our toughest campaign ever with 8 games lined up in the champions league. With Ashley, he tore the club apart and we all expected nothing and got nothing. With PIF it’s very different, we’re just completely inept off the pitch right now. And on the pitch we don’t have a striker currently and we have a weakened squad compared with last season, and all our rivals have massively strengthened. It’s been an absolutely horrific window. If we somehow salvage it then fair play, I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t think it would be possible and I’ll be delighted. However, as it stands right now, in terms of what we need as a club, in terms of what we have to spend, in terms of the season ahead, this has been a disaster
  5. Could do with a discount. Let’s get him
  6. Genuinely can’t wait for the window to close. I have no idea what state we’ll be in but this has been up there among the worst summers supporting Newcastle for me
  7. Was part of their agenda in buying a premier league team to out themselves as being incredibly incompetent and clowns in an attempt to endear KSA to the rest of the world? Think it might be my favourite conspiracy theory yet
  8. And we weren’t going into a season with 8 European games against very difficult opposition
  9. Got to say, I’m impressed that we’ve gone through pre-season and only managed to get two new squad members minutes so far (Elanga and Park), one of whom is most likely to go on loan. Ramsdale will get minutes and no other signings will be made until after the premier league season begins. It’s pretty remarkable stuff given the season we have ahead of us
  10. Not even a hot take, I’d say it’s almost nailed on if he were to come to us or another CL club

Nah, that’s been because we’ve targeted players who have a ton of interest and are the finished package. Our transfer strategy has been a complete disaster and it was clear ages ago that that was the case
  12. Strategy #1 Target players your main rivals are going for, ensure that you’re either outbid or the players don’t want to come to you in the first place Strategy #2 Your star striker wants to leave, begin panic approaches late in the window when selling clubs know they can squeeze ridiculous value from you. Sadly you don’t have quite the same leverage with your own player because he’s crying to the press everyday that he wants to leave Strategy #3 Don’t strengthen the squad in areas where you know you can. Wait until late in the window when the players you want won’t be released by their clubs Conclusion Give yourself a pat on the back for another day smashing the window out of the park. Chuckle at other clubs that have brought in players that were their first choices or areas they knew they had to strengthen. Remember that we’re going into a champions league season with a squad that hasn’t been strengthened for two years and without a striker and enjoy a few old fashioneds and a glass or two of Cava before calling it a night and checking DCL’s status

He can stay if it’s out of market value. We need to stop being taken for a fucking ride. Don’t want to see a single player come in here over their value
  14. Love a bit of Gottlob when it comes to Arma. One of my favourite forum tropes
  15. Don’t look Vlach - A searing memoir and personal account of Odysseas’s personal odyssey at Newcastle United. Bursting at the seams with hard-hitting truths and incisive commentary on the goalkeeper that never was. 0 Stars

    St James' Park

Platinum rate to get in there
  17. If we refuse to let him go his valuation won’t go down. He’ll be too fearful of the impact on his options if he doesn’t play so he will play
  18. It does feel very much panic stations at this point. We’ve barely shown a single element of scouting for the past two years. We’ve targeted a whole host of players that were unachievable and we wasted huge amounts of time on this without cottoning on. We clearly don’t have other alternatives that fit the brief of our signings from 2022 and 2023 so we’re hearing names being genuinely thrown about that make less and less sense. I’m shitting myself about the rest of this month now
  19. Doue, Woltemade, Yamal would turn it around for me
  20. There’s been some awful posts this summer but that’s the front runner
  21. Barely worth half that. Let them deal with their own mess
