You look at the market and what similar, worse, better players have gone for and their circumstances (age, current, contract length, league they’ve played in etc) and then you look at our financial position and the fact we’ve not spent any money in three transfer windows and had to sell Minteh and Anderson and bring in a keeper who will never see the light of day with us and it’s pretty easy to take a stance on the finances

£40m + £5m in add ons is extortion and would be insane. The lad’s got a year left and is almost 29
