Will Still? Jesus, if they’ve sacked Tony Mowbray for Will Still fair play. That’s an incredible show of ambition if true but I find it hard to believe. Surely Will Still would have far better offers - either championship teams who have the financial backing to get promoted or lower PL clubs like Palace
  2. The closer this gets the more desperate I am for us to progress to the next round even if it causes problems for us later in the season with squad depletion

    Loris Karius

Needs backing to the hilt tomorrow
  4. There are very few keepers who are an upgrade on Pope, especially during January
  5. Feels like he’s going to be finished within the next year. Can’t think of many footballers who break down as much as him at that age and go on to have a proper career. He’s less reliable than Ledley King
  6. Bit much like, hardly Judas for having the temerity to go play football elsewhere on loan when Pope was first choice. It didn’t work out for him, we made some money. Whatever, he’s a good lad, just not at this level anymore
  7. Honestly couldn’t give a fuck what happens in this game in terms of Howe and what that means for how he’s viewed. Any fan turning on Howe if we were to lose this match would be an imbecile. This is the biggest match of their last decade and we’ve been playing with a broken team for weeks and weeks. Also, while I’d love for us to put together an FA cup run. At this point, I’d prefer us to beat Chelsea in the Carabao cup quarters over Sunderland in the third round
  8. If Dubs has an injury yes, if Dubs doesn’t have an injury then probably yes
  9. All a bit sad really but at least his wife / girlfriend must make up for it
  10. De Gea and Lloris are both past it. No idea what the solution is here other than an exorbitant loan fee for Ramsdale for six months
  11. Would suggest that Karius is unspeakably poor in training
  12. I think Hojlund looks like a good player but he doesn’t strike me as a natural finisher. He’s got great movement, looks good in the air, is strong and fast. However, I think he’ll miss a lot of opportunities he should score because his ball striking or decision making in front of goal isn’t great. Maybe that’ll improve soon. It needs to if he’s going to be their main striker for the next five years
  13. He can definitely shoot, he generally just needs to be running with the ball to shoot with pace or hit it on the volley. He’s not good at being passed the ball with little pace on it and generating pace from his strike that way. He goes for a gentle placement and that’s not his strength
  14. I think if there weren’t injuries the pecking order for Howe would be: Corners Trippier Tonali Targett Gordon (maybe) Hall (maybe) Livramento (maybe) Free kicks Trippier Fab (if in striking distance) Tonali Targett Fuck knows
  15. Couple new ten-year contracts and they’ll be right as rain. Maybe a fifteen yearer or two on £600k a week to let the rest of the league know that Todd means business
  16. Forget the form book lads, we’re winning this one 2-1
  17. Always enjoy a jibe at Scott Parker’s expense
  18. Yeah, they were awful by their standards until the last fourteen games or so. Then they went on a great run
  19. Happy to quote this for TCD’s benefit. I generally have different opinions to TCD when things are not going so well for the team but I do appreciate TCD’s efforts in backing his opinions up and although there’s a reactionary element to his posts like many of us on the forum, he doesn’t just stick to the same opinions on players as more evidence / stats etc comes forward. I think it’s fair to say that it’s often the tone of interaction that has resulted in disagreements

    Lewis Miley

Don’t think his pace is an issue at all to be honest. I’ve said it a bunch of times but he reminds me of Mikel Merino and he’s probably faster than Bruno already

    Lewis Hall

Think it’s just down to Howe’s management style on bringing players through, especially young ones. Unless they come in and perform unbelievably like Tino has or Botman then I think he’s super cautious. We saw that it took Gordon the off season to get up to speed physically I imagine that Hall’s just not showing the fitness numbers in training that Howe’s looking for. I do think we’ll see a lot more of Hall from now on. If we don’t see him play a lot more from January - May then the situation definitely does become odd
  22. Phenomenal manager who’s transformed this club. Almost any manager would have likely had us in tatters way earlier than this with the injury crisis. Just hope he gets players back soon and that they don’t keep breaking down like Isak, Wilson, Willock etc
  23. Our away fixtures have been very tough so there is that
