  1. I don’t mind Neville when he’s talking about politics because at least he consistently hammers the Tories and you don’t get many people in sport who outwardly call them out. But fuck me, he’s got such a big mouth and always delivers anything he says as if it’s a fact instead of holding his hands up and saying “I don’t watch enough of Newcastle to say exactly how they play but this is what I think of them”
  2. He’s got such a chip on his shoulder, will be hilarious seeing people like him grimace and concede that we’re a great team over the next few years. People like Neville have loved to look down on us for years as plucky underdogs that could never consider being one of the big boys, going to have to grit his teeth and accept that things have changed
  3. Going into game after game where you have to win to avoid the drop keeps you connected to the team in a bit of a frenzied way, it’s a mixture of utter shit anxiety and frustration coupled with sweet relief when you scrape a point. Right now, it’s the great mixture of anxiety about whether we get three points each game and the amazing joy of playing well every game. We haven’t controlled games of football like this since Bobby was here
  4. Danny drinkwater was gutted about his time at Chelsea although that might be down to injuries. Pretty sure they’re going to have a ton of extremely unhappy players soon, going to be a loanfest at the end of the window
  5. Dyche would probably still take them down but he’d be as good as they could get right now. I love Bielsa but he wouldn’t stand a chance of keeping them up, they have no goals in the team and it would take too long for them to completely change to his tactics
  6. Maybe Boehly has changed tack and has given up on the ESL and is now all in on the Chelsea league, where they field twenty teams of midfielders, all playing against each other multiple times a day at Stamford bridge. He’s a visionary
  7. Another shot down in their prime, when will it end? First Gerrard, now Lampard, don’t know why I follow football when it hurts this much
  8. Must feel class going to Chelsea and seeing your career shattered due to ten people competing for one position. If you go there and it doesn’t work out you can only look at yourself
  9. Good question, I think based on his performances last season. It takes a lot of mental strength to come into a team that’s failing and be a big part of why they stayed up. Personally think that reflects very well on him but his performances this season and going in for needless tackles suggests he’s trying too hard to make an impact
  10. Fairly sure Gordon has a significantly higher ceiling and a lot of desire to progress. Still don’t like sewer rat though

    Nick Pope

I don’t watch any other teams regularly so I genuinely don’t know who else is having a great season but Pope has been faultless
  12. The only thing I worry about with Howe is the sheer amount of football he consumes. It’s his best trait but I just desperately hope it doesn’t burn him out. That high performance podcast made me a bit scared that he doesn’t seem to enjoy things at all in the moment but maybe many great coaches are like that because they’re perfectionists and always know there are things that need to improve

Feel like the only mistake he’s made in his time at NUFC was that error playing for England. At club level, he’s been one of the top 3 keepers in the league
  14. Not read much in the last few hours, who’s this wum and who do they support?
  15. Planet soft cunt De Gea reporting for duty
  16. That the first header of his career for the butcher / chibi character
  17. As much as Arteta is a complete tit, Arsenal deserve the title based on not only their points but also performances so far this season. They’re completely there on merit which is incredibly impressive when you compare their spending to the other big clubs
  18. Outrageous goal, McTominay is so shit
  19. Looking forward to the day someone absolutely clatters Fernandes
  20. How often does Saka make a mistake? Barely ever seems to happen, always makes the right decision
  21. Turning into a really dangerous forward Nketiah, again, could have got him at cut price a year ago if we’d really gone for it but at the time he didn’t look like he’d develop as much as he has done in the space of a year
  22. Sad that Rashford plays for Man U, wish he’d left over the summer. Keeps dragging them to one goal victories
  23. We should definitely be locking him down to a longer contract

    Alexander Isak

He’s the classiest footballer we’ve had since Ben Arfa. Bruno is super classy but not a dribbler, whereas this guy can rinse people and has final product. I really like ASM but having someone with this quality who can get goals and assists consistently is amazing
