Hope he can restart his career elsewhere in January. Would be great for him and us. His pace could definitely be of use in the lower leagues but we’ll struggle to shift him because of his wages. Howe might not be cutthroat enough to loan him out in Jan with a view to selling him in the summer but I think it’s what needs to happen

Realistically, his skill set is best suited on making runs into the box and general runs in the final third. He has the attributes more fitting of a forward role. He doesn’t have the technical ability / physicality to play in the middle. I hope we can figure it out as he’s definitely got great aspects to his game but he’s stalled rather than pushed on and mentally he seems like he doesn’t have the fire on the pitch or belief at times

One thing VAR has proven beyond doubt is that the standard of officiating in this country is even worse than we believed before its introduction. We were always told in the past that a ref’s eyeline was obscured, that there were bodies in the way or he wasn’t close enough to the action. VAR has proved that they’re just fucking awful at their jobs. Either they come out and say “we’re taking bungs and are a corrupt bunch of cunts” or they come out and say “we’re not good enough”. It means very rare. Specifically in Isak’s case it would refer to the fact that he’s got height, exceptional dribbling ability and pace as well as great technical ability in striking a ball. I think the thing that makes him particularly unique regarding those traits is his height as normally someone his size wouldn’t be as pacy and technically gifted at dribbling

Have we ever had a forward like Isak? He gets called a unicorn player for good reason. I don’t know much about his record on heading the ball but I imagine it’s an area he can improve on as younger strikers are often weaker in that area (Andy Carroll aside)

Will be a big miss today, creatively we rely on ASM, Bruno and Isak. I think Anderson will join them as our main creative players but at the moment ASM and Bruno are the most important
