ACLs in women’s football are rampant. Remember reading articles about it and how they can’t really figure out why they’re so much more prevalent in the women’s game. In the men’s game players come back very well nowadays, although it can take a good 12 months for them to get back to the same level. No idea if the women are getting the same quality of surgery though

Currently finding a local to pair with him for the video

They were a joke all my childhood and then became a cartel club under his tenure. Don’t like wade too deep into these conversations where it’s hard to judge from the outside as fuck knows what the granular detail is but from the outside he’s objectively been a huge success for them even if he doesn’t have a lot to show for it in trophies. A new stadium, huge annual revenue, being able to attract top players, strong academy etc, all massive really

Dripping with ambition sounds creepy like. Just get on and do your job and do it quietly lad

But doesn’t he have a stake all the same? I thought he did and by the sounds of his statement he’s completely stepping away?
-
How do you just step down though? He can step down from the role but doesn’t he have a major stake in them? And he’s retaining that or being bought out? If he’s being bought out then it can only be from the majority owner?

Think Elanga is the clear pick over Murphy. Hall and Trippier is much closest but I’d go Hall over Tripps personally

Shite player makes shite decision to join shite club and gets shat on

Wew. That’s huge, will have a monumental impact on how they function as a club. Could be good, could be good

I don’t want to contribute to the game becoming even more fucked and unequal. I get it, we don’t want to be left behind but I’d prefer that we just go our own way

Couldn’t look more like a CEO like

Aye, it’s essentially foolproof for Chelsea. They sell the flops to Strasbourg for inflated prices. They buy the successes from Strasbourg for deflated prices. Take out the buying and selling from your own portfolio of teams and it’s still a broken model where huge premiums are applied for players who have got minutes for the top clubs. That’s not corruption as such, it’s just a culture that’s developed that’s become normalised for KSA to spend absurd money on any name attached to these clubs and for other teams in the EFL pyramid to overpay as well. Every year a new weapon gets added to the cartel’s arsenal (pun intended) that makes them even more bulletproof. I feel sorry for other teams, at least we have some means to try to fight it, e.g. a moneypit so we’re not left with the same existential issues some clubs face if they take risks. However we’re just as powerless as them to combat the cartel unless we try to adopt similar practices, e.g. stockpiling, multi-club models, inter-group trading etc. None of which I want any part of

The financial value of players has flipped massively in the space of three years. If you’re 28 years old + and you’re not going to KSA then you’ll generally struggle to command a huge fee unless you’re a top player or a team desperately needs you (see Wissa). The only criteria you need to command a huge fee from KSA is to be a player at a cartel side. Any players that don’t manage to nail down many minutes at a cartel club but who have managed to play in the premier league and are under 22 will normally command stupid fees. If you’re a player in the same age bracket at a different PL club you’ll only command that fee if you’re in high demand and you’ll go to a cartel club or one of the big boys on the continent. The shift in paying huge sums for unproven talent is the biggest change in the last two decades

It’s the right decision to make on their part and we’d want exactly the same in their position. The only way to stay up and stay up with longer term hope is to do a Forest. We’ve seen that teams that don’t strengthen or don’t strengthen significantly get absolutely slaughtered. It remains to be seen whether the high risk option will have high reward but fair play to them for giving it a go

It’s utter bullshit

Quite a few tried to get traction with that one. Not sure it ever built up much steam thankfully

Can someone summarise what sneaky business has been done in this case? Have the FA actively tanked the case?
-
What’s the deal here? How old are some of Huddersfield’s players? Some of them look ancient. We’ve produced nothing in the fifteen minutes I’ve watched other than an incredibly lucky deflection

Just relax and enjoy them going backwards this season
