They were hardly given an opportunity to prove themselves at Chelsea from which anyone could arrive at any kind of conclusion, it's a disingenuous comparison. Aside from age (which is definitely a factor to consider), players who have demonstrated they don't fit the ambitions of the top clubs should be left for mid-table clubs to pursue if they want, we should aim higher.

Should be a hard policy of no "big six" cast offs imo.

Great read. loving the articles that are coming out around the club at the moment.
-
Pure silk, can see why him and Bruno would have such a great understanding

Love that Reminded me of this gem from Florian Lejeune a few years back:

Upgrading not a priority as I see it for this summer, would rather the funds were used elsewhere. Especially as the quality of all the GKs linked in recent months has been really underwhelming imo.
-
Deserves credit for his performances of late, for sure.
-
Thought he played very well tonight. some real quality in his decision making which has been absent in the past. Deserves a sustained run in the team if Fraser is out - it does feel like the rest of the season could be defining for him in terms of his future here, one way or the other.

This tactical setup against this Spurs side was always likely to produce this kind of outcome.
-
Would honestly want him sold if I was a Brentford fan.
-
I'd like to think we will be tbh.

That headline is an absurdity. The idea of Howe's non-response to a question that shouldn't be asked of him being any kind of metric of sportswashing is risible.

Nicely follows on from the discussion of punditry in this country further up the page. It's actually a joke from top to bottom, not a single one of them really worth listening to in any great level of detail.

Barnes23 replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
"Everybody tells me what a good squad of players we've got on paper but we're not seeing it on the pitch. "You expect West Brom to be at the top in this division, not mid-table, and the players have got to handle that pressure of expectation." Those are some classic Bruce quotes, shunning responsibility and diverting everything onto the players. -
Yeah, not exactly an elite or even particularly impressive selection of players.
-
Moving Joelinton to Fraser's position could be the answer.
-
Also towards the end "It would be easy to just give us a day off tomorrow"... Hates Bruce as much as us by the sounds of it
-
Really good watch, that. So nice to want to actually watch these as well Nice subtle dig at Bruce as well I would say @ 2:14 too

Agree with TCD. A credible candidate, a good appointment by all accounts, who will hopefully set us along the road we're all hoping to travel, but it's not an elite hire as I would define it. Hopefully he has the quality to help fulfil our medium to long term ambitions as well as our more immediate ones, it's certainly a huge opportunity for him in that respect.

Maybe as a squad player, I'd like to think we will be aiming higher if we really want to take things up a level. There's a reason Villa signed Digne.
-
It's because Schar in a back 4 may not be ideal, but Lascelles is a liability in general.

I would also like to see Joelinton out wide again, he looked really good in those kind of positions in the first games under Howe. I think it would allow for a better balance in midfield too.
