Same. Nothing still quite ruins my mood like a totally abject Toon performance and a loss. Slept like shit and our 6 month old decided to wake up 4-5 times as well. Feel like I’ve not been to bed. First half wasn’t really that bad save for that criminal defending off the corner. Just wasteful in good areas with our finishing, passing and crossing. Which has been a theme for quite a while. Second half was atrocious. 5 minutes of looking like we’d score. Then effectively game over after 53 minutes. Subs and the change to 4-4-2 before that even. Absolutely killed us. Felt a bit desperate when prior to that. We had actually had a lot of control over the game and Bowen was largely anonymous first half. Then ran the show in the second and we were lucky to only lose 2-0.

Same. Genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if we lost on Saturday and beat Liverpool after a great performance.

Might be some enforced changes if Willock and Bruno are crocked. Bruno is like Gordon and has mad recovery and seems to play all the while. Willock not so much….

Probably a preconceived opinion. But I’m convinced he sulks on the right and doesn’t seem interested. Despite his attributes arguably suiting that side just as well or better. He isn’t really offering an attacking threat from the left. Never gets down the line, his shots are often tame or blocked and he just hasn’t really got anywhere near the levels of last season yet. Probably reading too much into it. But just seems a bit off in himself and the way he is playing.
-
He was far from great. But we do somehow seem better when he starts games. Might be coincidental and more to do with the horrendous 4-4-2 we attempted. But they got fuck all out of us down that side first half. They seemed to be creating a chance every 5 minutes and scored down our left second half.
-
Didn’t think he was that bad first half. Massive error costing us a goal aside As for that second half. That was utterly pathetic. Terrible on the ball, passive, panicked and rushed everything. Woeful. I won’t be suggesting he plays ahead of Burn any time soon.

Who you are playing and expectation levels have such an impact on things. Could have got away with a spirited defeat to Arsenal, a draw at Forest and then a big win tonight and the mood would be better. Despite getting less points. As it is. We got 6 slightly unexpected points in the bag after two very good performances and results. But hen serve up one of the most pathetic second half showings I have seen in a long time. I suppose it feels more concerning because we’re not actually building momentum and we have seen that type of clueless performance when going behind a bit too often under Howe. The first half was actually pretty good. But then we just capitulated and completely ran out of ideas again. Proper cliched, Sunday League stuff. But once we went to 4-4-2. I lost count of the amount of 50/50’s, headers and 2nd balls we lost. They were first to everything and should have won by more in the end.
-
Proper Bruce/Pardew ball. Get as many attackers on as you can and go 4-4-2. Totally killing any chance of control over the game. They’ve bopped us that half from 50 onwards.

Kelly has been shit. But how are we pinning this all on Burn being missing? It’s been the usual shit in the final third. No quality and wasteful when it matters. Bruno, Gordon and Isak (albeit with not great service) have all been miles below their levels. Joelinton goes off and from the minute we went to 4-4-2 it’s been a mess. They should have scored more this half. Yet another game where we look good for 45-60 mins say. Then completely run out of steam.
-
True. But there’s a lot more wrong with this than just Kelly for Burn.
-
Feels like we’ve done the old ‘get as many attacking players on and see what happens’ tactic. Not really working too well. We love backing off and not closing down shots and all. Done it all season.
-
That’s why Burn plays. Pathetic from Kelly. We are wank in the final third. Playing alright otherwise.
-
Nervous now. Might back West Ham and the draw. My bets are so bad. They could stop the war in Ukraine.

Had my ST up in L7 that season. I remember there was the most aggro bloke in the world in my row. Always saying abhorrent shit about refs. Arguing with the away fans to the brink combusting. Anyway, Start of the game “may as well play with 10 instead of starting Leon Best. Shite.” After his hat trick, without a hint of irony, turned to his mate and said “Well I’ve always said that Besty’s a great player.” Then started waxing lyrical about what made him so good
-
I seem to have it in my head we are good after an international break under Howe? Any of the stattos on here got data to back that up?
-
It all annoys me. The ramblings of a madman at the start of the game and when someone scores. The shouting like a FIFA commentator whenever someone shoots like you’ve referenced. Even when it’s clearly not going in. Probably his worst offence is his ‘and Nunez and Diaz and Robertson AAAAND Salah’ when players are passing it about. So annoying.

Trippier in the squad based on his Instagram. Suddenly seems like we have some decent attacking options to change the game from the bench. With Barnes, Tonali, Trippier and to a lesser extent. Murphy and Osula.

Found the commentary a bit odd all first half. It was like they were taking the piss and being sarcastic about him all the while. Poor old boy. He’s crocked now and all.

Recently became an England regular. He cost a relatively large fee at the time for someone of his age when he moved to Palace. Palace captain. Their fans have raved about him for a good while. Linked with big moves regularly. Very similar to Michael Ricketts in lots of ways.
-
He was saying Salah isn’t world class the other day. The perfect blend of stupidity and wanting attention for his shit opinions.
-
Nah. He makes us tick, our captain, our talisman. They are usually straight on the plane back after international games no? He played Tuesday night, well early hours Wednesday our time. We don’t play until Monday night. He’s come back and been fine after international breaks with a shorter turnaround. He’ll start IMO. Rightly so.
-
I know he will probably still contribute with goals here and there off the bench. But at this point, I'd rather we just went more in on developing Osula to see if he has anything. As Wilson has no future here and doesn't stay fit for more than a few games at a time if you're lucky.
-
Sounds like he's still not trained and West Ham might come too soon. I have to say. I'm quite shocked by this news........

I was on about Gyokeres. You'd imagine if he keeps on, he'll have every top club in Europe after him. Kolo Muani, who knows.
