Considering how often we build our attacks down the wings, then yes. They’re like the structural, supporting walls of our team.

But Osula runs about like a puppy that’s just polished off a bottle of Happy Shopper Cherryade, though. Tears about like a loon, sometimes crashing into people, usually not disrupting play at all and isn’t always for the benefit of the team. How do we know what Elanga’s instructions were? No point him trying to press 4 players all the while, who are all quality technicians on the ball. We’d basically given up pressing as a unit by the time he came on. Save for I think once quite late on. I’m guessing he was told to stay central’ish and stop that easy ball into their midfield, funnel it out wide and be in a position where he can close certain players or look to go in behind when the chance arises. He does look low on confidence. But hard to judge Willock or Elanga on that. Seems odd to single him out. Bunch of fucking doom mongers on here

Don’t think we can complain about the ref tonight. He let so many yellow cards go for both teams and he could have given a couple of pens against us. I didn’t think either were. The handball his arms were tight into his body. The Schar one I think should be. But you see one of them every week and they never get given after the shot has been taken.

Could find space in a phone box with the ball. He’s always had good feet. But I’ve really noticed a few times this season. Just how good he is on the ball under pressure. Just shifts it past players with ease.

Only one game and obviously having the full backs starting helped. But the balance looked better.

You. Shall not. PASSSSSSSS
-
Just don’t bother trying to go by him. You won’t.
-
Mentioned it a while ago and I’m not sure what criteria you’d use. Maybe say, exclude the top 20-30 prem scorers or some arbitrary number. And you could put his back catalogue of goals up against so many. So many outrageous finishes.
-
Proper Gandalf treatment on Haaland when he had him squared up one on one.
-
One of those footballing cliches. But pretty bang on that he put it in the only place low that side where Donnarumma couldn’t save it. Needed something right in the corner, anyway. Hitting it too near him. But he was making some smart stops and is a right old unit.

Fucking yes. Watching it sober and trying to look after the little lad was tough going. Nervous as fuck by the end and had to keep my emotions in check. Take Barnes out of it and it’s a tough call for MOTM. So many top performances front to back.
-
Put some respect on his name. Been seriously underrated for a while. Glad he is getting starts and decent performances off the bench, too. Our best finisher, no doubt. The two he scored were harder technique wise than the two he missed
-
Not surprised we look so much better with proper full backs and also against a team that suit us. But those missed chances feel like they’ll come back to haunt us. They’ve missed 2-3 really good chances and all. Can’t imagine they’ll continue being so wasteful.
-
Basically done the opposite of what I said in the match thread pre-game and how he is usually. Been really good outside the box. Wasteful as fuck in it. Think Murphy was just offside. But still. Just bury it and then let VAR worry about it. It’s as if he got there a step too soon and tried sorting his feet out. Could have just scuffed it in on his right.
-
Hopefully gets double footed in the head by Murillo and/or Milenkovic.
-
If that’s true. Then we’re in a bit of bother in the league, I think. I really like Woltemade. But teams have worked out how to nullify him in this setup, we’ve not adapted to him at all and he’ll be starting every game at this rate.
-
I certainly feel like that was the case before Bunce arrived. Not had that many bad ones since and don’t think I’ve noticed it, if it is still a thing.
-
Just seen the Charlton score. Ouch.
-
That Burnley right winger has been in behind a few times and has hit a Chelsea player every time.

Howe also prefers plenty of players that get called worse than shit on here on a weekly basis. So I don’t buy that as an argument. We can debate the pros and cons. Otherwise it would be ‘in Howe we trust’ and never question anything he does Gordon has mainly been crap since the beginning of last season. Had a run of goals and assists after his new contract. Where the performances were better, but not matching the level of the previous season. But not much outside of that. You could then probably count on one hand. The number of truly top level performances he has had this calendar year. He’s barely been a threat, doesn’t work as hard tracking back, whether by mistake or design and his numbers are terrible. Also has two brain dead yellow cards in there and seems to have lost that spiky, radge element that I think made him so good. Technically, he is poor for a player at such a high level (England, CL). It’s all well and good having raw pace. But if you’re not going to beat a man or use the ball well at the end of it. Then that’s a bit irrelevant. Just Dennis Rommedahl or Obertan then? I said I think he’ll start if passed fit and he’ll get my support like the rest of them. I just don’t think he deserves it or the contract he is on. I can’t lie, I really don’t enjoy watching him play football most weeks.
-
When has he had a going day? Bar a couple of decent showings in the CL? Jan/Feb this year in the League Cup? Barnes at least attempts crosses or shots when he gets near the box. I’d take his output and actually trying to create something. Over whatever it is Gordon has been trying to do for a year.

What odds Tonalis Bookie just waits for all this to blow over. Then comes back on in a week or two? Evens?
-
I dunno. Quite a daft, amusing name I thought. But chuck in some of these mad posts and it’s all a bit:

Jesus Christ. Go and talk to someone

Is Tonalis Bookie just a troll that has remained undercover until now? Doubling and tripling down on this stuff.
