HBA is a Ferrari. You don't take it to the local Vauxhall garage to get fixed. If he's happy sorting himself out in France, then let him go. If that means he takes one or two games to get back into peak condition then I think we can afford him that. Especially with the Jan investments. Newcastle United are a premier league club and one of the bigger ones at that. If our treatment facilities are akin to a vauxhall garage then there's something very very wrong.

Some of our posters over there are a bit cringe inducing at times.

Exactly. I don't understand why goal line decisions should be so special, when many other game-deciding decisions will not be subject to review. They should just have a video referee permanently reviewing pictures, constantly in radio contact with the ref, and be done with it. Well IMO, decisions which historically could go one way or another were not subject to the subjective assessment of the referees/officials for the lulz, it was because there was no way to objectively know whether the ball had crossed the line or not. This is no longer the case and it is a very remediable deficiency of the game. There's nothing inherently nostalgic or sentimental about s*** disallowed goals or goals that never were We'll probably always argue the toss over tackles etc, and that's fine. This isn't like that though whatsoever IMO. It is black and white. Anyway, I wonder if this will eventually be implemented at every professional level of the game. There are plenty of other decisions which are clear-cut. Notably offsides, wrong corners. I don't see how they can justify not using technology for them too if videos become involved. Offsides aren't clear cut. Look at Cisse's second from the other night, even after the replays, still frames etc etc people are still split over whether or not it was offside. With the ball crossing the line there's no room for subjectivity, it either crossed the line or it didn't.

Been impressed with him so far. Seems very direct with his running and has pace with it. Just what we needed.

Hope Obertan is on the left, he seems to play much better on that side.

bloody x fans coming over here taking our jobs.

Throw HBA into that front line we have now and it could be something really special. Can't wait to see him back and see what he can do with movement and talent around him.

It doesn't depress me, like. Though I think I differ from many on here in thinking no game is lost before it's started. Very few think a game is lost before it's started. After half time team talks, subs and tactical tinkering however.......

I can't see the picture so it looks to me like you're calling Sam Matterface a 'filthy little minx man'. Disturbing but not entirely unexpected Can't see us doing anything of note. Maybe Xisco out / Mbabu in but pretty much sod all else.

We've still got to play Wigan away and Southampton at home. A lot could rest on those two games. 5 on this new scale for me, could go either way depending on whether our manager can grow some balls and/or a brain.

That sounds very much like you don't understand some issues are bigger than football.

I don't think China could get any cheaper. Mike would have to pay people to take his socks if he wanted to undercut the locals.
-
I still hold him in the highest regard. He's obviously got some problems that are bigger than football but he hasn't stiffed us, he hasn't done a Tevez and just p*ssed off. He seems to have been maintaining a dignified silence and engaging constructively with the club to resolve the situation like a man rather than just throwing his toys out of the pram like a lot of these overgrown children would. He's been a great servant to the club and a great captain and if he does need to leave due to issues in his private life then I wish him well and send him on his way with thanks. His dad and San Lorenzo can p*ss of though. c***s.

f***ing hell. That GIF looks like a grown man punching a baby in the face. How the f*** is that 'funny' It's a dude punching a baby in the face. The fuck is wrong with you?

Only on NO would we need a warning in a thread title reminding members not to post pictures of cum.

I don't think you can underestimate the effect these new signings will have on the morale of the squad. We're bringing in some real quality and the players will look at that and feel we're moving forward with some ambition. I'm sure they'll get a big boost from this window and hopefully that will be reflected in our performances. Still fearful but i'm back down to an 8 now.

Amazing that Chelsea's revenue increased by 64% the season after Abramovich took over. They were in the same ballpark as us before that and I guess that shows what success can bring in terms of foreign exposure and revenues. I took this in guangzhou the other day: http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/3161/058in.jpg There seems to be quite a few here supporting Chelsea now and i'm starting to see Man City stuff popping up so I would expect their revenues to start increasing a lot once their success brings the foreign fans over to them. Still haven't seen a single NUFC anything here. Not a single shirt, emblem or reference to our existence apart from the occassional match on TV (although when I told my mandarin tutor I was from newcastle the first thing she mentioned was the football team).

It's clear to me (and this has been confirmed by a bloke from Blyth who delivers borehole accessories to the training ground) that Danny Simpson is the secret lovechild of Colo and Willo and Colo is so upset that we're letting him leave that he's decided to go and farm armadillos in Argentina. You heard it here first.

Great signing and more importantly a massive statement of intent and ambition to the rest of our players.
-
This is brilliant. I almost felt like i'd logged onto another teams message board by accident when I saw the thread titles. If we can get this latest batch of frenchies in quick we'll have plenty of time to integrate them before the Villa game and then make brummie cry.

Injuries don't explain why we were playing shite with a fully fit squad. Injuries don't explain why our players wander around the pitch like 11 strangers at a bad party. Injuries don't explain why we constantly play negatively and try to shut up shop. Injuries don't explain why we haven't scored from a corner since dinosaurs roamed the earth. Injuries don't explain why we are utterly incapable of coming back if we go a goal down. At the end of the transfer window one man was insistent he was happy with the squad he had at his disposal. Well, guess what, we were right and you were wrong. Now piss off and let us get a manager who will get our players playing to their potential.

Dunno but i'm getting some great holiday tips, mainly scary ones. f*** that. I want rumours man! RUMOURS! Bollocks to that, this became the most interesting thread in the football section. Screw the rumours.
