A quality ball-playing rb (in a narrow midfield line of three) like Debuchy would given us true midfield width, the ability to spread possession from left-to-right. In a narrow 433 the wingbacks provide that width, and without two book-end FBs (as ball-players, who can anchor themselves around the halfway line & competantly re-direct play) possession retention suffers when opposition presses aggressively through the middle. The strategy to blunt the attacking potency of our 433, is to aggressively press it through the middle it. Smash it, as Wigan did. With only Santon, as a wide outlet (when the inside three are pressured), we're a lop-sided team in terms of being able to retain possession across the pitch. Wigan best exploited this weakness, with midfield numbers & aggression, when the 433 was in peak form. The inclusion of Debuchy would've ammended the team's achilles heel. 8m (or Lille's asking price) maybe too much for some. I'm referring to those who may be looking at the deal through Ashley-tinted goggles, strictly from the resale value angle. In terms of benefitting the team, and his arrival would be a massive upgrade to one flank. In this case 8m, or the going-rate, is a no-brainer. Debuchy, Bigi & Amalfitano (as development projects), with no major departures, would amount to a good transfer window. I bet you're ace at FM.

1% of what though? Butterflies? Coffee beans? Cranes? Amputees? He's f***ing s****, and has the heart of a sheep. 1% of all humans. As would be all Premier League players. Great, lets sign Emile Heskey then, he's in the top one percent after all.

So what exactly happened with this agreement not to sign players from Swansea? Did they just go 'Nah, fuck it, we were only kidding'?
-
I'm not sure what would be funnier, the mackems signing him for that price or him turning them down and going somewhere else.

'Putting pressure on Hatem and Jonas' sounds like we'll be going 442

Oh man, now you've done it

Striker is probably the hardest position to keep going in I would think. If you're a Sheringham type who has never relied on pace or movement then it's not so bad but in general strikers need to react quickest and have the acceleration and burst of pace to get into position ahead of the defender and that starts going quite quickly once you're the wrong side of 30.

Weren't we linked with Rondon a while back? Could be worth looking at again if he's going for £10m.

Buenos dias Always nice to have fans of other clubs on here. Watch out for VI though, he might kill you.

Can you have a slight sea change? Shirley that would be a small big change....

sam allardyce still does Tbf hippohead also values the height you can achieve in that same kick. Long and high for him (like). He's not just one dimensional
-
If signing him means we finish just one place higher than we would with Simpson as first choice RB then we make an extra £800k or so prize money. Kind of pays for the extra £1m himself when you think about it.

4 is a quality number!!! It's my OCD number, gotta do everything in 4's . . . . You'd hate it here. I live on 24th floor but they won't mention 4 so it goes 23rd floor, 23A floor, 25th floor.

He arrived in the mouth of a shark with no arms or legs and £10,000 off his price tag I'd have been surprised if the shark did have arms and legs tbh.

Always a shame when publications across the alps lose consistency and reliability. Thats why Hannibal sent the elephants. True story. He didn't fry their livers though.

You won't be laughing when he's on the bench and backoff boy is playing RB next season.
