the biggest difference between him now and back then is that he seems to take forever to get the ball under control. When he started it was all max 2 touch stuff. I don’t think taking him out of the team to field a fat/unfit Wissa was a good decision at all, but other than that it’s kind of all on him.

so irritating because him being able to go up 1v1 vs their left winger all game and beat them was a massive part of our approach. I rate our chances of working on getting the timing right more often with the final ball over the offside trap next time btw. It’ll be much better with Gordon instead of Osula as well because the movement is smarter and the decision making is a thousand times better.

Yep. It always felt like the ref was going to cost us, and this time it was the play until the opposition scores variety. It summed up our season nicely.

we are not likely to get a Barcelona performance as poor as that at their place. The opportunity was there tonight to take a 2 goal lead there and we were right to go for it. don’t think we were naive. We had full control of the second half and it was right to go for a second imo, it’s what we have done in previous seasons to great success. We just give cheap goals away with basic errors. Been doing it all season.
