For many of us old enough to remember, the trauma of 1995-96 and the blown 12-point lead still lurks. The holy grail within reach, but we slowly let it slip. Please God don't let it happen again. It would be too cruel. -

That article incorrectly states that his contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 season. In fact he was given an extended contract through June 2026. https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/allan-saint-maximin-signs-new-deal-to-stay-at-newcastle-united-until-2026/ Depending on who you believe, he's making somewhere between 4 million and 5 million per year. I doubt that he is desperate to leave, even if the club won't redo his contract yet again, or that the club feels any pressing need to get him off the payroll. Can't see him leaving any time soon unless the club gets an unrefuseable offer. -
Fake news. My truth will always be that it did and it was absolutely hilarious.

Absolutely had it up to here with people defending Bruce, even with a "Devil's Advocate" disclaimer (and especially on the Rafa Benitez thread.) The hell with him and his ghastly son.

And this.

Remember this?

Maybe we should surround his car after the next game and yell at him that he's not fit to wear the shirt. That might help.

And such a contrast with his nitwit predecessor.

Not sure that Ritchie is the player best qualified to give advice about keeping a cool head tbh.

It's an absolutely astounding statistic that out of 29 league games played we've lost only three. In the club's entire history in the top division we have never lost fewer than eight in a season -

Not sure Brentford at home is a bigger test than West Ham away, but we'll see. -

Scouting report said he played with a lot of heart, wasn't afraid to do the spade work and would be an asset to the club.

Yes. It's very unusual to find someone with Miggy's lightning speed off the mark and sprinter's pace over short distances, combined with the stamina of a marathon runner. And hardly ever injured, too.

Go ahead and cancel. They'll immediately offer to renew at half price.

The match referee really isn't just "someone" in this context. The rest of Fulham's season is eleven games. I suspect he'll get close to that.

Probably been mentioned before, but if Southampton, Bournemouth and Palace (or conceivably West Ham) are relegated and replaced by Burnley, Sheffield Utd and Boro (or conceivably Blackburn) it will knock a couple of thousand miles off our traveling next season. Give the PL a much more northern tilt.
