"Every fucking where" is the correct traditional phrase.

"But it struck me that just a matter of months ago, I was up in the North East on the occasion that Newcastle played Arsenal. It was a packed house. Of course it is. It always is at Newcastle United. And the fans were in fine voice. And Alexander Isak that day scored the only goal of the game. And he spoke to me afterwards. You know, I love it here and I love playing in front of this crowd and these fans. And, you know, we just want to keep winning. I just want to do good and keep scoring goals and we will all be happy. I love it here. And I love it in front of these fans. And he was talking to me just straight after the end of the game. And he was thrilled to have scored the only goal of the game. And now this, Isak Adamant. He will not play for Newcastle again. If you didn't hear Gabby on breakfast, he really let loose. Wow. I mean... Wow. Who does he think he is, by the way?" A release clause doesn't protect the club in any way at all. Suppose we give him a release clause promising to let him go if anyone offers £150 million. Next summer Liverpool offers £110 million. Isaac and his agent demand that the club accepts it. The club doesn't and Isaac kicks off again just like this time. Refuses to play. How is the club any better off?

I'm at the point where the only one absolutely unacceptable outcome is to sell him to Liverpool for even a penny less than £150 million, with his written transfer request in hand. If Liverpool stump up £150,000,000.01 (not even £140 million with "add-ons"), that's a win. Let him go and good riddance. If they don't, and he stays, that's also a win, whether he reintegrates (which he likely will, at least to an extent) or sulks in the U-21s. He'll still be a saleable asset next year. Either way, we will have stood up for ourselves and not caved in to scorched earth pressure from an entitled rival and a treacherous/misguided player. We'll have set a precedent -- don't mess with Newcastle United. The disaster would be to capitulate by "compromising" or "meeting half way" by letting him go for, say, £130 or £135 million. That would be a humiliation.

Maybe i'm missing something. Suppose (however unlikely) that he signs a contract as you've described with a 150 million or 130 million release clause. Higher wages, longer term. Next summer Liverpool come back with another 110 million offer. Refuse to offer a penny more unless we "invite" a higher bid. Isak demands we let him go, goes on strike again. What have we gained? How are we any better off than if we'd just held him to his present contract? We've just paid him more money for being a cunt. What do we get out of this hypothetical new contract, except maybe a temporarily happier Alexander Isak?

Of the 10 games after the final, he played in 9 ("injured" for the crucial Arsenal away game). In those 9, he managed 2 goals from open play and had one assist. Did score 2 pelanties. Ran out of steam and HAULED OFF before the final whistle in 8 of those 9 games (all except Brighton.) Mostly around the 75 minute mark.

Let's say he signs a new deal exactly as you've described. How would we be any better off next summer, if he kicks off again the same way he has this summer? The only justification for a new contract would be if you think that (1) it'll put him in such a better frame of mind that he decides he wants to stay after all and give 100% and (2) it won't infuriate the rest of the playing staff.

Bruno signed a new contract with a wage rise in October 2023, which extended his commitment for two years, until 2028. Gordon signed a new contract in October 2024, with a pay rise, extending to 2030. Isak is under contract until 2028. If he's willing to extend until 2030 (without a release clause that would make the contract term meaningless) then go for it, with a healthy pay bump. Make him the top earner at the club. Even give him a guarantee that he always will be top earner. But if he isn't -- if he just wants more money, a favourable release clause and no extension beyond 2028 -- which I'm sure is the case, then give him nothing. Tell him to honour his contract. I honestly don't think he wants a new extended contract. He just wants to go.

Tino signed for £35 million, now worth £70 million, so let's double his wages. Bruno signed for £40 million, now worth £80 million, so let's double his wages too. Gordon signed for £40 million, give him a 50% wage hike. Same with Tonali, signed for £60 million, now worth £90 million. 50% hike. No, screw them, all they've done is honour their contracts, behave like pros and give 100% for the club. Let's just reward the guy who went on strike, disrespected the club, teammates and manager, and ruined our transfer window. Otherwise he'll be really cross.

No one going to comment on her makeup this time?
