  1. Thought you came across uncharacteristically well here. Still can't stand you though.
  2. If he doesn't get the South Korea job maybe North Korea would take him.
  3. Would be amazed if Cooper or even Marsch would be interested.
  4. Can't blame any club for releasing a player who has a curse on him, tbh. Not much the medical staff can do about that. Pretty sure it was Shelvey who put it on him anall.
  5. What has poor Mr. Arteta done to deserve that? Although not so bad for him if it's with bare feet I suppose.
  6. Usually spot on? Samuel is the genius who scoffed at us for not appointing Stevie G as manager and regularly moans about our Saudi ownership. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10192591/Steven-Gerrard-Aston-Villa-perfect-fit-Newcastle-blew-chance-appointing-him.html I agree that we should squeeze Man U to the max, but I'll never be a Martin Samuel fan.

    Fabian Schär

    Like a Chinese burn maybe.
  8. If he leaves tomorrow his brief tenure will be remembered primarily for the Tonali fiasco.
  9. Yes. This trick won't work again against any team that has been paying attention. If Trippier's on the field and someone other than him is taking a corner, it's not going to be a conventional first-time into the box and it's probably coming back to Trippier. Unless next time we pull the doube-bluff and have Miggy or Gordon swing it straight in . . .
  10. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68253004 The Premier League is facing the threat of legal action from a club over amended rules around commercial deals. On Friday, rules regarding associated party transactions (ATPs) were tightened, aimed at clubs signing sponsorship deals with companies linked to their owners. ATPs can inflate revenue streams and allow more room for spending. League officials have not named the club but informed all 20 of the threat at a shareholders' meeting in London. The legal threat surrounds whether the Premier League's rules are compatible with competition law. BBC Sport has been told the threat remains even though a vote on the proposed rule changes, following an earlier review, gained enough support to be passed after it had been rejected in November. The changes will be introduced to the Premier League handbook in a matter of weeks but one contentious element around personal liability to directors has been removed. It is understood the vote was not unanimous. Sources have pointed to that disagreement, plus ongoing charges against Everton, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City and behind-the-scenes complaints about the new Premier League TV deal, as evidence of fractured relationships within the Premier League and discontent with chief executive Richard Masters. "Following a full review of the existing associated party transactions rules and fair market value assessment protocols, clubs agreed to a series of amendments to further enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the system," said a Premier League statement.
  11. Your name vill go on ze list. And coincidentally, RIP Ian Lavender aka Private "Stupid Boy" Pike.
  12. Blackpool just loaned George Byers from Sheff Wed. Don't know whether they have an option to buy Byers though.
  13. Kenneth Wolstenholme? No. I think it was all over for him as a football commentator by 1980.
  14. Saving him in case of a "handbags at ten paces" outbreak.
  15. A player who wants to keep competing at the highest level, in front of big crowds of fanatical and knowledgeable supporters? Who has motivations other than just maximizing his income? Who enjoys living in a civilized country with a temperate climate? Whose family is settled and happy where they are? Pretty hard, I suspect.
  16. I, for one, would be honoured etc. etc.
  17. Albert Luque covered it up . . .
  18. Probably should be in the old Songbook thread, but Brian Johnson's "Geordie's Lost his Liggie" could easily be adapted into "Geordies Love Wor Miggy."
  19. Sick of this and fuck so-called FFP. Have to sell your best players if you want to compete at the top, and then you can't compete because you've sold your best players.
