Totally understand why he’s gone for Lascelles over Fede though. It was unrealistic he could play two games in a week with so long out of first team action given he’s at the end of his career.

I used to really like Hayden but he’s been a massive victim of the Bruce era. It feels like he’s been either shite or a complete passenger for ages.

I don’t think we’ve got much of a hope of staying up now if you look at the games we’ve played and the games we’ve got left to make it to the half way point. I thought Gilmour looked very tidy player last night and kept the ball moving very well for them. He seems utterly wasted in that setup as there’s no one useful to pass to but he’d have improved our midfield immeasurably if we’d have tried to get him last summer. I’m still absolutely bemused after watching that game last night how Schar and Fernandez were frozen out so long. It’s actually irritating.

It’ll be a big test to see what Howe’s about whether he goes for a more solid, athletic defender or whether he reverts to Richie as he’s been his player for so long. We really needed to win that. If we beat Burnley and get 4 points this week we’re still alive but fail to win and we might as well start planning for next season. How Clark has been ahead of Fernandez for so long is a complete mystery to me.

The Rangnick appointment is a much more interesting and ballsy move by Man U rather than the obvious move for Poch who seemed desperate for it. Quite intrigued to see how he does and what they attempt to build.
