  1. Would rather 2 good purchases than one really expensive, relatively high risk one.
  2. It wasn’t his fault at all but I grew to really dislike Clark. He was brilliant for us in the Championship and was decent as cover in the Premier but watching Bruce pick him ahead of clearly better defenders in Schar and Fernandez was infuriating. Couple that with game costing errors every couple of weeks and it was inevitable that Howe would axe him.
  3. I saw some stats from him in the Mou era I think it was where his work rate and particularly pressuring the ball was awful in comparison to other players. He’s always looked good when I’ve seen him play.
  4. I guess that’s where statistics alone won’t tell the full picture because you can’t watch both Olise and Gordon and say Gordon is just as dangerous/creative as Olise.
  5. Gordon is shite. Almost zero end product and already has a reputation for diving. If the reported fee is anywhere close to the reported £35m they’d be mad not to activate Olise’s release clause instead.
  6. They wouldn’t have won the title without him that season.
  7. Ronaldo wasn’t the reason Man U were shit last season. It’s an easy narrative to push but the reality is he was at the other end of a long list of issues. Unless it was pre-agreed he can leave I can’t see anyone coming in and paying a fee Man U are prepared to accept.
  8. I’m probably wrong here and will look like a mug if/when he leaves but I think Tielemans is one of those players who’s career fizzles out. I can remember reading a thread on a Leicester forum last season where they’d really started to turn on him and he was essentially to to blame for them losing up here when Willock glided past him (confirmed slow). I’m not saying he isn’t better than Shelvey because he is. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was an expensive flop at his next club who has already peaked though.
  9. I’d never considered this. Kane is definitely going in my fpl next season.
  10. Great temperament?? Thinks he’s better than everyone else, huffs around when things are going his way, greedy in front of goal and misses sitters for fun. He’s been awful almost every time we’ve played against Everton over the past couple of years. I don’t think he’s rubbish and he has something about him but for £50m I’d expect a top level player if I was a Spurs fan. He isn’t going to play ahead of Son or Kane and I can’t see him slotting in as a RW. like the post above I think £30m would be about right for him. Two £50m transfers blows my mind.
  11. Im obviously missing something but it’s beyond me how this player has two £50m transfers in his career already.
  12. Wasn’t he linked with a move to Liverpool recently?
  13. The PSG move actually makes sense now given their new sporting director. Wasn’t he known for buying young players in Portugal and selling them on for high fees to European teams? The is probably better for him as well. He’s barely played any football so being a squad player for PSG in the French league is less of a gamble than what could be sink or swim for him. Fuck his agent. Kudos to how we’re operating now I’m all for it.
  14. To be fair to the lad he’d probably barely heard of us given his age and his agent is likely telling him all these massive clubs are in for him.

    Nick Pope

I’ve unturned a little on his signing after remembering how bleak it was when Dubravka got injured last season. We can’t rely on Darlow or worse at this level anymore. I don’t think he’s an upgrade on Dubravka but healthy competition for £10m is good business.
  16. I still think it will happen. If there’s a full agreement with club and player I’m surely we’ll grind this one out. I’m pleased the club aren’t being taken for mugs.
  17. Not a fan of Pope but he’s better than Darlow and Gillespie. I’d rather we’d gone for a younger prospect to challenge Dubravka. I’ll be disappointed if he starts ahead of Dubravka.
  18. I thought he was going for significantly less than £30m?
  19. I quite like DCL but £50m seems mental for a player who’s had arguably 2 good seasons. I know you can’t compare these things but Sterling is available for around the £35-40m mark and is a world class player under any description. Basically us signing DCL for £50m is the exact sort of transfer Everton have shackled themselves with because of ffp.
  20. How is Sterling only £35m ?
  21. Seeing so many people saying we should sack him off because he obviously doesn’t want to come. Why do people impose such odd narratives man. Relax there’s a long way to go in this window and we’ll be far stronger by the end of it.
  22. I don’t really see the point in signing Pope. He isn’t as good as Dubravka. Would rather we spend the money elsewhere as well.

    Fixtures (2022/23)

That’s quite a rough start. I hate playing newly promoted clubs so early too as they’ve still got enthusiasm from being promoted. Forest are the weakest out of the lot though and may have to spend a bit just to get their squad as good as it was.
  24. I think he was always a midfielder until Pep moved him to LB. I could be wrong mind.
