I’m down to about a 7 despite the last couple of wins. Burnley got a good point last night and have games in hand, a Norwich result tonight could potentially piss on a lot of positivity. I still think it’s a straight shootout between the 4 clubs at the bottom and I’m not confident enough yet to expect us to stay up.

It seems like they’ve been a team with no character for as long as I can remember. Some of their players have obvious quality but there’s nothing cohesive about them at all. They completely folded in that first half and didn’t recover.
-
Yeah this is true. Im friends with some of his close mates (never met him myself) and he’s often with them. He usually sends football kits up for their kids that I’ve seen on social media. He seems a genuinely good lad. Fuck him yesterday though
-
I was thinking this too. He never used to be like that. Even yesterday, when he played really well he nearly made a massive error that could have been game changing. He let the ball bounce then gave away the freekick right after we’d gone 2-1 up.
-
Agree the pass was poor and it nearly cost us but neither of those tackles were ever red cards man!
-
I did not expect him to be such a visible upgrade on what we had. He’s rock solid at what he does.
-
He’s basically Joselu. Not Joselu the goal machine he is now but the version we had. I thought he played ok today and worked hard but he’s not much of a threat and we over paid by £10m or so.

We were better than them by a good distance. ASM best player by a mile. I’ve lost count of the clear chances he creates that others manage to fluff.
-
What a god of a man he is

Been really impressed with Willock again today

Lascelles maaaaaaan

ASM is lethal!!

Absolutely shit ball by Shelvey that set that counter away

Seen nothing in that half to suggest we can’t go on and get a good win in this second half we’re all over them.

2-0 Best win and performance of the season and Wood to get one of the goals. Frank Lampard’s Everton surprisingly unable to deal with Fraser.
-
It’ll be interesting to see what Lampard does with the new signings as the system they played with Allan and Gomez in the middle seemed to work really well for them. Does he break that up straight away to accommodate either or both of Alli and VDB?

Started well seemingly

I’ll be gutted if Rondon scores. He was here two minutes but left such a massive impression.
-
Not the thread or the thing to be dwelling on but look at the state of Clark when he first comes in. Can barely be fucked to even greet him.
-
I don’t think he’ll change the system he’s been working on for the past weeks. I think Burn and Targett will be straight in and we might see Bruno later in the game depending on how it’s going. We could really do with beating these to keep them in the mix. I hope Wood scores.

I think it’s been a decent window. I can’t fault the owners for their application and ambition to try and make signings and they deserve a free pass with some of their naivety and how public some of the deals were. They had a really poor hand and literally every club bar the Trippier deal tried to take the piss. What I am concerned about is I’m worried we haven’t upgraded that much. Considering how below standard we’ve been this season only Trippier and Bruno are serious upgrades to what we have. Targett, Burn and Wood are all decent purchases but aren’t levels above what we already had. I think Lingard/Alli could have been really significant to our attacking play and a striker prepared to run in behind. The Carlos or Botman signing could have been revolutionary to our back line too. I guess so for all it’s been a good window I’m worried it isn’t enough.

I had low expectations when we signed him. I thought he’d be an ok but uninspiring squad player and he turned out worse. When we played Palace away and he had 0 tackles, next to no pass completion and a collection of other woeful stats was one of the worst midfield performances I’ve ever seen. Hopefully for him he can get his career back on track elsewhere.
-
Think I’d be happy with that too

Would have preferred Lewis was kept in the squad but also found it a little bizarre as he needs game time. Clark rejection a loan is pathetic. Probably looking to ride out his contract.
