  1. Maybe Kelleher? Unless we go all out for Diogo Costa - only 22 and is seriously good. But will cost a fair old wedge (50 mil being bandied about). Bazunu is solid too, but apparently on his way to Southampton for 10 mill. Deal not done yet, so there's time to gazump them.
  2. And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday we chilled on Sunday….
  3. I like Brice Samba - great distribution out of goal. Would make a good keeper for a mid-tier PL side, I reckon.
  4. This Luka Sucic lad has the touch of the Haris Vuckics about him - tall, elegant, slightly slow. Would be good for a spanish side, not too convinced about how he'd do over here.
  5. Love the idea of a Watford players Whatsapp group chat and Sarr being so much of an introvert that he refuses to participate. So much like an office environment and you get that one guy who doesn't want to get involved in anything outside of work. Can imagine Howe handing him the piece of paper to write down family names and birthdays and he just scribbles "N.A."
  6. Anybody know why Sarr didn't play that many games this past season? He was absolutely tearing it up in the Championship in 20/21, that's for sure.
  7. Moyes began managing Everton in 2002. In 2002, Eddie Howe was just 24 years old . Guardiola has won 4 fewer games, but had spent fourteen fewer years managing in England than Moyes.
  8. Expectations: "You can do a flick, An overhead kick, As long as it goes in, we'll understand... Score 'em with your feet, your body or your heed, Newcastle is where you become a man. So don't fail my heart, My Ekitike heart, I just don't think it'd understand, If you fail my heart, My Ekitike heart, We'll sell you down the road to Sunderland!" Reality, we'll keep it simple and go: "Hugo Ek-ki-tee-kay Hugo Ek-ki-tee-kay, Hugo Ek-ki-tee-kaaaaaaaay That nobody can deny! That nobody can deny! That nobody can deny!" (To the tune of that Binley Mega Chippy song - which, granted, is just "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow")
  9. All I know is that his long passes out of defence are insane. I've said before in the Transfer Rumours thread - if we got him, we'd not need to upgrade on a keeper - just get Dubs to pass it to him for a quick long-pass turnover.
  10. Why the hell would they put him on the market? He'd be great here on the right hand side, strong and direct and very little faffing about on the ball, the antithesis of ASM. Edit: Christ, no wonder, ACL and knee ligaments at the age of 22. Missed out on the entire 2020 season.
  11. He's terrible at crosses.... I'll get my coat.
  12. If we are looking for someone in the mould of Bissouma, we should be well in for him. Hard-pressing Kante-lite.
  13. Was about to make the exact same joke
  14. It would also mean we'd have to buy two new CBs instead of one. Clark and Fernandez aren't playing, so they have to be out the door. We need four out of Schar, BDB, Lascelles and A.N Other.
  15. Is Isco worth a look in these days? He's run out his contract at Real. Between him and Eriksen, there's an embarrassment of riches in the out-of-contract visionary attacking midfielder buffet this summer.
  16. “Eddie’s Samba Mags” Sign him and Targett, use him as left winger. Sell ASM.
  17. Listening to what people say about Richarlison off the field (as in he's actually nice and humble in real life), I'd think he'd be a good, happy player - especially when surrounded by his compatriots and in a team playing clean, exciting football. He's snide and cunty in Everton's team because Everton plays snide and cunty. I'd love him here, much more so than DCL.
  18. He isn't terrible, come on. What he is, is a good keeper, but somewhat on par with Dubs (more talky, much better at kicks and throws). Trouble is, as mentioned, it gives us two good keepers to choose from, when ideally you want a much better upgrade to Dubs if you want Dubs to be the reserve keeper.
  19. Inacio's distribution from the back will also help save us money on Dean Henderson IMHO. Just get Dubs to play it t o him if we want to go long. Underrated player.
  20. This. In fact, all the left-footed centre backs that we were linked with in January who have resurfaced this window are probably just rehashed rumours. BDB was our eventual left-footed CB purchase. Not to say a CB wouldn't be an important signing, mind.
  21. I hope our Board is taking a look at Villa and the speed and efficiency at which they close deals. The quicker players are signed, the quicker they can bed in. That said, I hope the calmness about our approach speaks to really meticulous planning to get the right profiles analysed and scouted to “buy right, buy once”. Awfully jealous of Villa’s hauls these past days though, not gonna lie.
  22. Paqueta can play "narrow right" - ie the right-sided forward sitting behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1. He swtiches between that role and the "10" role (the middle player in that 3) for Lyon but thrives in the right-hand side role. As others have alluded to here, Howe may want to transition the side into this sort of model, given the interest in attacking fullbacks like Lodi. It's like a 4-2-2-1-1 with a hardworking dynamic support striker, two half-space attacking mids, two ball-laying pivot mids, and overlapping fullbacks. It gives great flexibility to go 4-3-3 or a more traditional 4-4-2 where circumstances permit. The supporting striker signing would be key - must score goals, must work hard, play alongside Wilson, and yet be able to cover for Wilson in his inevitable injury period. Not a lot out there. Toney and Gouiri are great supporting strikers, but their numbers as a lone striker may not be all that.
  23. That's Gerson from Marseille, who we were linked to in the January window, albeit briefly
  24. Ryan Kent, Demarai Gray, Lodi.....that's a lot of left-sided attackers we're being linked with.
