If our top brass is unwilling to deal with a "Newcastle premium" for players, they'd better buckle up for the "Newcastle without Callum Wilson in the last eight days of the transfer window" premium, is all I'm saying.

In sharp contrast to Almiron, who has spent almost eight years in English speaking countries and doesn’t seem at all comfortable with the language. But Miggy seems very much an introvert.

Things I loved upon rewatching the extended highlights: - Bruno radging after our team huddle just before kick-off. This is what a winning mentality is all about, people. Amazing; - KDB being quite nice about it when Trippier went over to presumably say "I didn't do it on purpose, mate."; - As per HTT's post, when Graeme Jones hugged Kalvin Phillips and gave him a peck on the cheek, always love it when opposing players and staff get back to being nice and friendly, even in a hyper competitive match like this. Bruno even traded shirts with Haaland, I believe.

Pep Guardiola name-dropping St Maximin; Joelinton and Callum Wilson, man. "Did you enjoy it?" - "I loved it!" - "Eet's enough."

He's been linked before. https://breakingthelines.com/player-analysis/kouadio-kone-a-diamond-in-the-rough/ At his best, he's like Yves Bissouma had a baby with Joelinton (2022 midfielder Joelinton). But he's still very much a breakout player - raw and far from the finished article. And if this is true, we can see the pattern of our scouting priorities. We aren't looking at "the finished articles" just yet - they cost too much, and would be unwilling to come to us. We're on the hunt for these young unpolished gems (some with very obvious perceived flaws like Joao Pedro- not prolific), and put them through the Eddie Howe system and integrate them slowly and well, and build up their value. Very much aiming to be the PL version of Dortmund.

Maybe the PIF top brass watched this match and will be thinking “Fuck it, let’s go all in” and we end up with Diaby, Osimhen and Paqueta by next week
-
Yeah, Pep has won it all and has the worlds best team at his disposal, he’s savvy enough to give credit to opponents where it’s due. We really matched them very well today.

If Steve Bruce had started this match with Schar, Joelinton, Wilson, ASM, Almiron and Longstaff, he’d misuse all of them, stick Joelinton upfront, make everyone else hide behind the halfway line, lose 5-0, and then blame Schar and not play him again forever. We are now galaxies away from that sort of management and culture of accepting defeat. It’s mind boggling how far we’ve come. Eddie Howe is a goddam genius.

Meanwhile, Brazil national central midfielder Fred’s team is sat at the bottom of the table, having conceded 6 goals in two games lol.
-
The claim was that he’d picked up a knock, but more likely Guardiola had the nous not to use him and let him get Pickford-ed by the home crowd. Not like they’re short of good reserves to bring on.

I think he’s joking that City were the average side.
-
Nice to see he has a little bit of shithousery in him as well. That first half you could almost feel his intensity. Such a winner.

Love this guy, the one person in the team who really carries himself like a true rock star.
-
Box-to-box CM with physicality and a good bit of vision. Like Bruno with more strength and edge. Or if Donny Van Der Beek were the player everyone thinks he is. In a three with Bruno and Joelinton, he’d be the missing piece of what would be a very capable central midfield.

If Forest signs Aouar, there's no way Lyon will let Paqueta leave in the same window.
-
Just for the satisfaction of Mackems boycotting the use of his last name.
-
Martinez will be loaned out to the Eredivisie in January, wtf were they thinking getting a midget to play CB in the Premier League man.
-
Rabiot’s mum gonna have them bent over a barrel for wages
-
Ten Hag's expression looks like he doesn't comprehend what "losing" feels like.
-
Looks like drawing against the team "that beat Manchester United last week" isn't such a big deal anymore
-
Maxi was definitely confused by the kits, like. At least twice he confidently placed perfect passes to the feet of a Brighton defender, as if he meant it.
-
For the second time in two weeks - we should be all owa that!
-
Apropos of nothing, I remember a pre-match thread in 2015 for Leicester at home on the old forum. And I vividly recall someone angrily stating "We should be smashing them, they're Leicester FFS!" Leicester won the league and we got relegated. It's so tight in that space between 5th and 10th nowadays I find it impossible to call any one particular match.

If Tudor doesn't rate him, why not sell?
