Haven't had any credible links with him, even at the relatively low price bandied about. Which indicates that our new technical datanonce-in-chief, "Suds" Sudarshan, who was responsible for statsnoncing him at Atalanta, hasn't given our scouting team the "we must buy him" klaxon.

Rudy Galetti is that chicken man? If so, he hasn't accurately predicted shit since forever.

Yes, that's exactly a "James Trafford Gazump"! Newcastle offer 27 mil and Trafford was on the verge of signing. Man City (who have that clause) matches our 27 mil and Trafford had to go to them.

Or if he gets perma-crocked due to a "friendly challenge" during training by a pissed-off colleague, tbf.

Overspend this season hedging that we'd bank 100-120 mil for Isak next summer, possible?

Basically what you're saying is that Chelsea has an option to "James Trafford Gazump" the Scousers, which I desperately hope will happen

The one time Chelsea could’ve steamed in for a gazump, and they don’t.

Got a chuckle out of me

Not sure what leverage Palace have here. Guehi won't want to go anywhere else, what's the bargaining position? Either they take what Liverpool is offering, even if it's 10 mil, or they'd just wait til next year and get him for free. If Guehi was willing to consider anywhere else to play, we could hoy a bid in and disrupt the scousers.

I'd grudgingly give Glasner his credit. Won his club's first silverware ever in its history (and now the Shield), and that was after their best player got sold to Bayern. Eddie's score for coaching acumen and achievements are scandalous, though.

We take ages to scout people and ages to sign people. Rightly so, because with PSR, we can't afford to buy flops. Trouble is that none of the abovementioned strikers have been scouted properly, and we'd take three weeks to sign each player. Meaning that it would either be impossible to get a great striker in in time, or we'd be doing a panic buy putting us in a horrendous position in both the short-term and for the long-term value of the asset. Isak should have started his shenanigans much earlier, is the moral of the story. Not halfway in, when we were on the verge of signing his supposed strike partner/replacement.

Others have pointed it out, but it bears repeating: 1) Ornstein had himself tweeted quite emphatically "Isak will stay at Newcastle after they get to the UCL". This tweet was on the last day of the season, so apparently two weeks after Isak told Howe he wanted out? 2) During Bruno's "release clause" scare last summer, Bruno was not involved in any of the pre-season kit release media materials. This indicates our club won't waste time doing media and comms content with a player who may not be around for the start of the season. This year, just a month ago, Alexander Isak featured front and centre of Newcastle United's 2025/2026 new kit release content. Ornstein and Isak and Liverpool and Romano are launching a coordinated attack on our club in a last-ditch effort to force an exit. There isn't any pretense anymore and lies are accepted currency.
