Funny how three days ago I was like "get him out, he doesn't want to play for us", and now I'm like "He doesn't want to play for us? Fuck him, make him play another three years!" It's a strange ultimatum though. If we got him to play, he'd be faced with the humiliation of staying with us despite this. Unless someone is making stuff up.

I mean, Eddie Howe and his brand of football certainly has a "type". Just that Ramsey has a reputation for being somehwat injury prone (missed almost all of the season before last, and 10 games last season). Other than that, he fits our system to a T.
-
His first touch and technique is still a little suspect, and made up for by his great physicality and Portuguese League defenders. We won't push out the boat for him at 60 million quid, too much of a risk.

That release clause gets higher with every report

If true, then a somewhat impactful defensive midfielder for Brighton is somehow worth more than one of the top five strikers in Europe.

Surely the Wissa replacement?
-
His reputation amongst all fans other than the Scouse is in the gutter now. He'll probably stay, and find himself a club overseas next season now. None of our viable replacements are left to sign. Pedro and Delap's strikes against Milan and Ekitike's against Palace showed how good our potential replacements are. We can't just substitute these with someone we haven't scouted properly. No margin for error.

AMs are out of fashion, so there's a lot of decent ones out there still waiting for a pickup. Akliouche and Mitaukadze from Ligue 1, for example, the latter of which is available at a seemingly bargain price. If we're indeed shopping in Serie A, the logical buy would be Nico Paz from Como, they bought him last summer for only 6 million Euros and he's typical "Barca technique" but lots of running and bite. Nifty little player.
-
Put a bid in forcing them to spend money to buy him this window(rather than get him for free), just for shits and giggles then.

Welcome to page 9 to page 25 of this very thread

He'd be great paired with Schar IMO. As @Curva Sud Milano said, he needs a leader next to him. Schar needs someone with pace to cover. And together with Ramsdale and Schar, our transitions out from defence would be really good. All three can pass out and find their man in midfield.

The thought of Gordon or Osula playing for us upfront, even for a month during AFCON is giving me chills. We’re already going to suffer for at least the first three matches of the coming season unless a miracle happens, which I doubt it will.

Salah as anonymous as he was in the Carabao final.

If it were Bruno Guimares' hand, do you think it wouldn't be given?

Palindrome HAULED OFF.

I suppose their predicament is fitting two world-class (apparently) strikers into their team. One of whom cost 65 million and the other will cost north of 120. Can they do just as well with someone costing 60-70 million instead? If it were just about having strikers in a solid squad, and not about weakening a potential rival at the same time, the latter choice would be the most logical.

With a forward line of Gakpo, Ekitike and Salah, I can understand how Liverpool really doesn't need to spend 150million on a striker. Especially if they can get any number of other strikers for around half that price. It's just a flex.

Palace fans in surprisingly good voice.

I mean, it's a hypothetical. If everything were done in the background, and everyone was dealing in good faith, it wouldn't have come to this. In one scenario, we'd have Ekitike, we'd have sold Isak for 125million and Liverpool would have gotten him. The scouse idiots paying 116.5 million for a Bundesliga midfielder set the benchmark and was a stupid move in hindsight.

They've signed Evann Guessand, we put in a 40 million bid for Watkins.
