The comments on this post threw up a nice surprise, this patriotic masterpiece is the abode of a certain Uncal Mick.

He'll be gone in the summer. Had high hopes that we'd have a decent run in now we've had a rest and no more distractions, but nothing has changed. Such a shame.

This is mildly amusing, hope City get another couple.

Pretty fucking brutal that, where is that from?

Spurs are on their way to Swansea

Gateshead have been brilliant tonight.

"Went for a walk down Duckett's Passage, marra. When I got to the Royal Oak an air raid siren sounded and everyone was scrambling to get to the shelter, but just then the Luftwaffe flew over in formation spelling out FTM and suddenly everybody cheered. Winston Churchill shook my hand and thanked me for ending the war, then Gary Sparrow gave me a white fiver to donate to Spirit of 37".

What the fuck was wrong with their fans? Quiet for a massive chunk of the game.

Wor Flags: visit worflags.org.uk/donate to support future displays

Absolutely this. That display was nowt short of phenomenal, it truly was a thing of beauty. The fact that the players couldn't react to it is a fucking disgrace. -
Sgt Peppers opening at 10am. A few weeks ago the guy behind the bar at Bealim House said that they were opening at 9am but don't know if that's been confirmed.

Very disappointed but won't lose any sleep. Gave it a really good go but came up short against a superior side. Think the myth that PL is the best in the world has pretty much been exposed in a single round of CL football.

All I could make out was a list of names, followed by them shouting the word "cunt!". No idea what the bit in between that ranting was.

There's a half time thought shower coming up.

Rosenior "I will always protect my players" Also Rosenior a few games ago "I don't blame our fans for booing at the end of the first half. If I was in the stands then I would've booed that performance". Stupid prick.

Not really football related, but it reminds me of this episode of Mork & Mindy

Wouldn't do me much good, I already know that I'm covered in gravy stains and stink of Bisto.

I get that it's not within the official boundaries of the City, but hotels tend to associate themselves with the nearest major city or tourist attraction. it isn't anything new and shouldn't really be a thing to get angry about. This screenshot is from Matfen Hall's website, are they going to get upset about that next?

Hundreds of tickets on there for the mackem game, it's little wonder that fans trying (and failing) to get tickets via the ballot are fucked off.

Copium in full flow. If we'd hung on for the win they'd still claim to be delighted because Barca will stick at least three past us over there, or something similar. Wouldn't be surprised if their coping mechanism after their game on Sunday was "well at least the mags got knocked out".

Think so. Was upstairs in the Trent House before the match and was speaking to a group of American lads who had come over for the game. One of them told me he paid 600 dollars for a seat in the east stand. He then said to me "I used to support Arsenal, but now I support Chelsea. If I enjoy tonight I might start supporting Newcastle instead though". There was a lad sat on their table in a Liverpool shirt watching the Galatasaray v Liverpool game and it became obvious after a while that he was part of their group so I asked him if he had a ticket for the match and he said yes. I said to him "well, I hope you have a jacket to cover your Liverpool shirt". When I got to my seat the guy in the seat next to me told me straight away that he was a Barca fan. He then spent the whole game filming and taking photos with his phone. I asked him later on where he had got his ticket and he gave me the name of the website, it was something like LiveSportsEvents.com or similar. He left five minutes from the end so missed their equaliser.
