The copper probably knows it's a bit of a waste of time but at least the guy didn't give him any grief. Big week for the lad, hope he stays out of bother.

Don't really see how the second bit is patronising, they haven't suddenly morphed into Real Madrid. Their team appears to have a great spirit and a lot of fight about them, and they are finding a way to get results. Le Bris is getting the best out of the players he has, pretty much the same as Howe did. Don't understand how that's an insult unless they're starting to get ahead of themselves.

I'm from Wallsend and consider it to be part of Newcastle, even though it falls under North Tyneside. Benton, Forest Hall & Killingworth are all under North Tyneside but are mostly considered to be part of Newcastle. When I lived in Forest Hall a load of my mail just had my street address and Newcastle upon Tyne, then the post code. One thing that really bugs me is the whole Tyne & Wear shite, would love it to be officially done away with and properly fall under Northumberland again.

I don't remember any of this, but I read somewhere recently that they held a fan vote twenty-odd years ago to choose a nickname for the club, with black cats winning the vote. If that's true, then having to manufacture something like that seems like such an odd thing to have to do.

Yep, we'd lost 7 of the previous 8 games in league and cup.

I'd love to see them attempt to create a list. I have absolutely no idea who might be on it, but it would be funny to see. Tonali is easily better than anything they've ever had.

I'm in my fifties and I wasn't even born the one time that they briefly appeared in a European competition.
  9. It's odd, but for all I loved Isak when he was here, there was something a bit aloof about him which was a feeling I didn't get with the majority of the rest of the squad. Just personal opinion, but getting those vibes with Gordon now.
  10. I'm sure I heard a podcast with an ex-player (think it was Gayle) where he basically said that Bruce grifted through his whole time at Newcastle then the day that Staveley visited the training ground for the first time he suddenly upped his game. There is absolutely no way that he said to the new owners that he's the only negative now and it's best if he left, that's his way of changing the narrative from the fact that he was sacked because he was fucking lazy and incredibly shit at his job.
  11. Yep, it's gone beyond the point of being a plausible reason and it's nothing more than an excuse now. His form might be suffering because of the disjointed pre-season and his poor start there, but there's no way that he isn't match fit now.

I've seen Sam Fender live four times and the closest to anything anti-sunderland was when he referenced a flag that a mackem had taken to the play-off final with a picture of his severed head on it, so it was a comment in response to the mackems wierd obsession with him which he felt obliged to call out. Genuinely can't recall seeing or hearing anything else.

Equally, if he was a mackem then they would adore him. It's a bit of a stupid thing to say, it works both ways.
  14. I was there as well. I'll be honest, I couldn't remember the scorers so had a look on nufc.com and yes, you're right - two from Mira, and a Pallister OG. Having a look at those games was also a reminder of the win at Liverpool, so that's another legacy for McFaul as manager. Remember at the time not being able to quite believe it, one of my biggest buzzes in my early days of supporting NUFC.
  15. Aye, devastated by the news. It's a shame it all went wrong for him at the start of the 88/89 season, but what he achieved with that squad the previous season was pretty phenomenal, it made a lot of fans very proud. The thing I'll always remember about Colin Suggett's time in charge was that win v Middlesbrough. Pretty sure we beat them 3 zip.
  16. Lad at work has just read this out from a message from a mate "who gets it right 90% of the time". I'm never usually at graft 3 hours before a kick off so I've never had team news from this lad before, so please don't shoot the messenger... Pope Trippier Botman Thiaw Burn Tonali Bruno Joelinton Elanga Gordon Woltemade
  17. A win, with another "questionable" decision going our way which leads to Lego Thunderwank spontaneously combusting post match.
  18. That's awful. Good on the chap for being brave enough to speak out about it.
  19. As a craft beer ponce, I just find the whole thing hugely disappointing. Most of the smaller brewers don't know whether they'll survive from one month to the next and I'm guessing that Anarchy is no different. Thoroughly idiotic to upset a chunk of their customer base in this way when they're probably not in a position to withstand any negative impact to their sales.
  20. It was the sarcastic comment "Liverpool fans are special, you must not criticise them" or whatever words he used, which I took as a general dig at the dippers. My observation certainly wasn't supposed to be pro-royal, I hate the cunts as much as anyone!
  21. Congratulations on making it to 5pm, I got as far as lunchtime and hoyed a half day in.
  22. I know he divides opinion, and yes, it is Talksport, but it's worth dragging the slider to 5:00 and watching the last few minutes. Particularly liked the comment about the national anthem .
