  1. That was stressful as fuck like. Every time I selected two seats together they came up as already taken. I resorted to fucking about in the upper bowl out of sheer stress, then payment wouldn't go through. Then my mate rang to say he'd got two together in safe standing, and that was only 15 minutes ago. Not sure how he managed it, but absolutely buzzing.
  2. The lad I'm getting tickets with has a much better place in the queue, but is on his mobile in an area with shit signal so I'm not going anywhere.

There was some discussion about it, yes. One incredibly optimistic soul predicted 30k.
  4. Shirt with star as part of design here's a link to the final version of the shirt on Ebay. Probably the best version of it to go on general sale. The shirt was quite often also match worn with McEwan's Lager as the sponsor (mostly away), but I don't think that version was ever released on general sale.
  5. Seem to remember that there were several versions of this shirt released. When it first came out it was sponsorless, then it was available with Greenalls sponsor which was incorporated on the shirt as part of the overall design. Then the sponsor changed to Newcastle Breweries and you could get a patch from the club shop at SJP which was basically a black bar to cover the Greenalls sponsorship, with the blue star in the middle. The next version to be available was the one in your photo. The final version was in 1992-93 and had the blue star incorporated as part of the overall design of the shirt. Remember getting the blue star patch to cover my Greenalls shirt. My Mam kindly stitched it on for me, but I'd removed it within a fortnight because it just looked shit.

Just had a look, deary me, that's atrocious 😂 Hardly anyone at Sunderland v Stoke - there must be a massive EDL rally on somewhere.

Bloody hell. Remember that one as well. Think that was the case, it was nothing more than a fixture filler and was fairly short-lived.

Yep, that was it, I stood in Gallowgate scoreboard. Had forgotten about Shilton playing that night. Did a search and Dean Saunders was also playing. Amazed to see that someone has put the match highlights on YouTube.

Derby in the ZDS Cup takes some beating, think it was 89/90. There were only about 6k there, freezing cold, and final kick in the nuts was it ending up going into extra time.
  10. Nod to their shirt from the seventies.

    In memoriam

Incredibly sad news, rest in peace.
  12. Devastating news. Rest in peace, Christian.
  13. Poor performance but good point, given the circumstances. Far more worried about the injuries TBH.

Nah, this is completely on me, I dropped a monumental clanger and I'm truly sorry to everyone.

Really sorry, its a line from the song but very bad judgement on my part. Apologies
  16. Not massively worried as have a modest number of loyalty points and have also been to all home cup games, but it will be interesting to see how it all develops if it's weighted in favour of cup attendance over loyalty points. Ticket allocation seems to be such a touchy subject. Got to get to the final first mind.

Watched the game and thought they played well, but no amount of persuasion will convince me that what I witnessed was prime Barca

Suspect that's totally made up. Watched the game and whilst Sunderland were half decent and very dogged, anybody with that as a genuine realistic opinion wants sectioned.

As much as I hate these cunts, they're giving this a good go.

  21. Doubt this insult will get the credit it deserves.

Both Jeff Brown on BBC and Simon O'Rourke on ITV are big Sunderland fans aren't they? How much influence over the local sports media do they actually want? Never understood their obsession with Dawn Thewlis at all and I've seen nothing to convince me of any bias towards NUFC. It's just weird.

This has to be a wind up, surely:
