  1. There is a huge amount of exploitation of kids strung along with hope they will get signed and then dumped after they've given up their education with little subsequent support. Plenty with good reason to feel hard done by
  2. There may be an inexperience factor there but there may just be a still barebones backroom staff. January window was just Mandy, Howe, Nickson and that consultant dude locked in a room at all hours doing everything themselves wasn't it? Now they have Ashworth too but no CEO yet. The staff carried over were minimal as is and have experience scrabbling for bargains not dealing with big agents. It will take time.
  3. I suspect a bit is to see if player will fire agent or drop all demands then maybe comes alive again but no more effort from our end. I dont think it will happen
  4. Good. Can't allow ourselves to fleeced, plenty of agents will try
  5. I know reasons why that might be teh case but god that would definitely be one of my top priorities. I know he was good under Howe but he has good patches, he cannot be relied upon.
  6. Yeah I think may come alive if noone else is in for them later in window but I would be minded now to leave offers on table (unless alternative found) and stop wasting energy chasing them and move on.

    Nick Pope

I would much prefer a keeper who was good with his feet tbh but still decent price for him and will hopefully be a bigger presence in box
  8. Aye bit disappointing. Do think they need 2 proper midfielders before anymore tricky attackers though
  9. You can bet that they would be lobbying to be excluded from relegation due to 'historic importance to the premier league brand' and that some media types would back them up
  10. I really dont think anyone should give a shit
  11. Oh must have been taken down, here it is

  13. Pay linekar nurses wages and all that...
  14. Yeah was a pretty silly analogy, but the idea that to be pure he shouldnt go does have a little weight but also is also the same argument that all newcastle fans including myself who do have some qualms about the ownership should boycott it completely. I use petrol, I use Amazon (trying to ween myself off it lol) I am a hypocrite. If you expect purity you can invalidate anyone anywheres argument about anything. As a human being Linekar is entitled to be critical of the world cup and also enjoy his job covering it and shouldnt have to apologise for taking pay he was offered by the bbc entirely of their own will.
  15. I'm fairly sure whenever the only link a club has to a player is in relation to another club trying to sign them and says 'face competition from' and there are no other links (correct me if I'm wrong) what is almost always happening is it is leaked by the agent and it's a LOOK WHO WE COULD SELL TO THEYRE DEFINITELY TOTALLY INTERESTED HONEST move to get them to give better wage offer
  16. I dunno I'm not interested in a keeper who's not good with his feet, is Pope? Doubt it at Burnley
  17. It's ridiculous isn't it, only a few seasons ago that transfer would be £15m absolute maximum. Arsenal should rightly move elsewhere and say see you in a year if Jesus really wants to join.
  18. Till they beat us and it'll be SAUDIS IN CRISIS headlines immediately
  19. Oops didnt click on was trimmed off lol chelsea away is an ouch
  20. Nice to finish the season at home

    Joelinton

His passing stats are not great for a centre mid. I think what disguises this is that Joelinton, maybe showing his instincts he got when playing further forward almost immediately looks to release someone in the transition, in that highlight reel you so often see he's got posession and he's very quick to try and ambition pass. This looks good, is good but he's not seeking to recycle posession much and his stats at doing so indicate he's going for riskier option often. He's tremendous if you are looking to break, which by and large we were. If we are looking to control a game there are still some questions, but this is why i want a really comfortable calm passer as 3rd midfield option, then we can get better posession stats. Joelinton is not super suited to keeping the ball

    Joelinton

I think it may be slightly more complicated in fairness, he is often tackling and muscling off midfielders trying to beat him running past, as a forward Centre backs are not likely to do this (for the reason of this may happen). When pressing high it is important you do it as a unit generally, (apart from just the odd pressure to make goalie relinquish ball) as centre backs nowadays will likely pass it between them and full backs. Joelinton was alone up front a lot and easily bypassed. In centre mid, more players around, more crowded, pressures more likely to work.
  23. I imagine that court case is why more weren't after him. Bit of a gamble for Spurs tbh.

    Joelinton

I think we need a creative passer who is very good at keeping the ball to complement, we still struggle to control games and slow things down with keep ball. That would balance well with Bruno and Joelinton imo
