Does he have a poster of his Fifa card thing behind is tv?

Well i don't agree has to wear a suit but come on have to have your own style if you go down in history. wenger's longest puffer jacket in history, mancini's scarf, pep's turtlenecks, it is a decidedly boring side to eddie's game and frankly he'll never be elite until he ups it ;d

fuck me i leave to do something else at 1-0 down...

Bored of all these draws going to a different sport, agreed ashley to buy us back on the cheap

While i don't listen to football weekly much anymore partly because of him he was just a wind up merchant, never really took him seriously enough to actually hate him and still listen now and then and don't mind some of his contributions, that tweet is just really really stupid though. What the hell.

He brought in youth and created an excellent team atmosphere clearly that had been really lacking. He wasn't tactically sophisticated so set us up conservatively and knew Kane and Sterling would always provide something even if we weren't in the game. Unfortunately over time we haven't developed a possession game and our attacks are slow and predictable generally, we are best when we counter attack but any sensible team won't open up the space we need to run into. He deserves an awful lot of credit for our performances, but one has to ponder if he should be moved upstairs in some capacity rather than kicked out as he no doubt will be if our performances continue into world cup. With these decent well liked coaches you always wonder maybe they could hire a tactically aware assistant who can make all the decisions in games and about how we play and Gareth can just be in charge of vibes and standing there with the waistcoat

We really would benefit from a midfielder who can play keep ball and slow things down, it feels like we go for broke all game which is brilliant but part of that is we are bad at patience and holding on the the ball to take the sting out of games.
-
It's not more defensive it allows midfield to push higher and the wing backs are more attacking and stretch play better but it is risky which is why it's an option for games where we are clearly better but they are defending deep
-
I really agree with this actually in games we ought to be dominating. Trippier can push on and go wide to allow Isak and Wilson to play more central, it would I think require ASM to stay wider and of course you know him and tactical discipline... The big unknown factor is if Isak and Wilson will dovetail or step on each others toes.

Yeah feels a passenger in the team currently, I am not sure he is suited to the team as is, if we are in counter attacking mode sure but it has been a long time since he has been in good form. We are so lacking in midfield and I know its maybe too soon but I would consider playing Anderson instead if he's fit (anyone know when he's back)

A problem i guess is last season everyone coming to st James were eyeing a potential 3 points and set up accordingly. Eddie has to think about if he can tweak the setup against teams just sitting deep

There are some right bed wetters about. The squad is thin and yes we desperately need a new winger and midfielder but it was clearly difficult in window it. will. take. time. We will have much better results, but we will probably only be midtable nothing more. We especially struggle as soon as our subs bench is called on. Too much of the team is still brucie's boys.
-
We are not yet good enough to win them all there are clear frailties in the squad the current injury crisis has exposed badly. Yes we should be beating bournemouth but nor is it time to be throwing toys out of pram
-
It was a good window, it's just people thought we had built a top 6 squad when we're still nowhere near, it will take time. A midfielder and a winger would have been nice but it is difficult and the squad will be built over time.

jesus that's grim like. Noone ever doubted nani had skills but there are plenty of skill merchants around but the real great players are ones who, and i hate to sound like a pfm, but could be kicked for 90mins and still dazzle. Nani was good but a pale imitation of, and i hate to say it, ronaldos first stint at man u. of course he can pull off some cool tricks on command it's utterly irrelevant to the sport.

I'd by and large agree, we were better when Rafa dropped him, but he did very well under Howe, I had thought we shouldn't trust him but if Howe can get a consistent tune out of him would be happy for him to be back. We were after a midfielder in summer but didn't get one, I imagine we will be back in January for one so unfortunately for him he does have shelf life but if he comes back he is certainly an upgrade on Longstaff or Willock and i say this as someone who has been advocating for Shelvey to be phased out for some time. It's just if he can be consistent

Bundesliga have it, I just think it kinda goes against the principle that the 3 worst teams go down, instead it's 2 worst and 1 of the remaining worst. How would you feel battling to 15th position or whatever and then have a few key injuries and relegated as those cripple you for last games. For promotion it stops the same 3 ones coming up everytime with parachute payments so there is at least that reason
-
Because he was nominally an attacking player from watching that vid it's not just that he wins the ball he so often wins the ball off player and moves forward attacking as if in one motion, and so often it doesnt look like the opposition player is expecting it at all
-
Never sure he was really a full back, oddly maybe would work today as a pep style inverted full back coming into midfield. One of our more technically gifted players in a squad not built to suit. Always liked him regardless
-
Still probably an upgrade on Darlow, feels sensible

Considering all the talk of the big six getting Leicester 5th two seasons in a row isn't terrible (one should have been 4th but for a bottle job) and a cup. He's clearly got strengths. They always seem to have recruited well too but then fail to refresh the squad badly. Tielemans was an excellent buy but you would have thought moved on for big money, same with Maddisson and then adequately replaced. Instead despite having saleable assets they have let their value drop and are posting astronomical losses and face losing players cut price or even for free. Somethings not right there.

These last two games have turned me from thinking VAR probably a net good even if frustrating at times to something that needs to be binned, which i know is a partisan response. I agree the standard of refs is huge part more than the technology but if it's just going to be similarly contentious decisions as before whats the point of it? The incredibly pedantic offsides I think are almost always dubious as comes down to what microsecond the ball left the foot of the passing player and if the freezeframe is always accurate at then. Offside is a rule there to prevent goal hanging and improve the standard of play not chalk off perfectly well worked goals undone by margins beyond human eyesights capability. The one area is when refs want to have a second look at big incidents and even here they are making mad decisions. If it is to be there it needs to be used as they set to fix massive errors that happen, not creating controversies where there were none before

Christ its not the best start but players are coming back from injury soon we will be fine lol
